Hello- Growing shiso this year, one of my favorite herbs. I've tried a few times in the past and it always languishes. Now that its in the greenhouse though, it seems to be thriving. However, its really really flat tasting. The samples I had when it was a seedling were encouraging, but now its really dull and "green" tasting, missing the vibrant citrus/spicy flavor it should have. Is this sounding like a nutrient problem? The plant looks very lush and happy... Its in decent organic soil and other vegetables are thriving. I've seen enormous bundles of it at the Arcata farmers market and it was some of the best I have had... shouldve asked them what they use. Anyone else grow it, and what works for you? Should I try some liquid food on them?
