You can buy dried opium poppies on eBay. They are the real deal, no doubt or question. It's perfectly legal to possess, buy and sell them as dried flowers. All sorts of other websites too. Buyer beware, prices, quality, and customer service varies a lot between vendors. I think they become illegal as soon as broken up & processed. Oh yeah, Lady O can ruin your life, whether Heroin, Vicodin, or Opium Tea. One of my childhood friends, in his 40's now, he and his wife got addicted to opium tea. Their lives went to shit, lost jobs, home, all rights to kids gone. Last I heard they went south in search of family. That said, I grow some each year. I didn't take pics of mine, end up with a couple dozen pods, from dime size to almost golf ball size. Pitiful, but I'm surrounded by trees, nothing gets enough direct sun. Catch a couple buzz's, that's it.Nice flowers/pods, BCG! Danish Flag, right?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | They have a hard time with spammers. If you want to join, just click the thing that says "contact administrators" at the bottom. I think it will link you to a guy named "soloris". Just ask them to accept and they probably will, I can't see why they wouldn't. Maybe they won't tho, who knows, I am not a mod or admin. I totally agree, the shit is highly addictive. I have a friend serving 20 years for robbing people to support his habit. definitly something to take with caution.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I respect and agree with the cautions related to opiates. However for me personally I don't find it to be addictive. I like growing things and alkaloid producing plants particularly interest me. However I will never be one to be addicted to hard drugs, never have never will.. Opium is to be used responsibly and not without purpose in my opinion. I don't really believe that drugs of any kind cause peoples lives to go to shit. I believe that the people cause it. People who have self destructive tendencies can and will abuse drugs. It has more to do with being self destructive. There is use and abuse of even the most toxic and addictive drugs like Opium. No one is to blame for ruining their lives but them by making the decision to abuse drugs with self destruction. Blame the user not the drugs.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I think i agree with you there BC I was addicted to my perscription medication in the past. Drugs can be damaging to lives but at that point it was mostly due to the stuff i was going through and that i let myself (to quote you) become "self destructive". It wasnt just drugs though. I followed the trend with alcohol and anything and everything else. Thankfully i got away from it all when i went into the Army. Now that im out ive taken up smoking weed again and i drink once or twice a week but im able to hold it together because ive gotten my life back on track. I simply questioned the addictive tendencies of Opium for fear of relapse. I dont take my meds anymore because of those past problems. Scared me i guess. Weed takes care of the PTSD. I just figured somthing more natural like opium may ease the nerve pain in my hip and back. Just didnt wanna risk making a big habit of the stuff.

I bought a bag of Opium Poppies seeds a few yeas ago, mainly for curiosity. I am a lazy gardener and just tossed an entire handful of seeds amongst the strawberry plants in early spring. In mid summer I had a lovely garden ruled by blue poppies, that was after I thought they were weeds and stopped pulling them up. (young plants look like weeds!) I poked a couple with pins and watched a pin drop sized bead appear for each poke, then called it quits and just harvested the seeds. Now that I'm new to vaporizers, [mod note: Other Drugs The focus of our Forum is the growth and use of medical Cannabis. All discussion of drugs other than Cannabis will be limited to the Tiki Lounge or Flowers & Herbs forum. Discussion of the growth of other plants including but not limited to coca, peyote, poppies, salvia, etc. is acceptable as long as the discussion focuses on the growth of the plant. Discussion of the production of by-products from the above mentioned plants and/or methods of use of those by-products is prohibited and will result in closure of the thread.] I might grow these again for being pretty and easy, but since I have enough store of morphine here to medicate an army, I didn't put any effort into harvesting the pure stuff. I see already I have resistance to MJ and need more of it for my pain than a few months back. :-(((( Enjoyed the photos... the plants certainly thrive and are beautiful, if you baby them along! ![]() | Treadwell, Is it addiction to the old mophine/ opium meds, or is it resistance where it takes more and more for pain relief? I don'r understand what it's liek to be addicted? My doc says I'm not, but it takes 40mg of rmorphine to do what 10mg did 2 years ago. With MJ, I've used the extra morphine breakthrough doses only 2x, then gave it up easily with no problems for MJ I am still on a synthetic morphine patch always, for maintenence though. Is this co,pletely different that what happened to you? I've been on opiates daily now since 1999. They just don't work much. now after 2 months on MJ, i need two hits to get enough pain relief for 1/2 - 1 hour. It was only one. I fear the situation repeats itself...

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Well under the Flowers and Herbs forum in the description it says : (Discussions specific to the cultivation and harvesting of various medicinal flowers & herbs) I doubt they'll close the thread for harvesting the medicinal flowers, thats what the forums are for. They are being grown for educational purposes and independent research only.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Very good points made about the user being at fault for self destructive behavior, I won't argue that. I just wouldn't want any of my fellow mj growers here to think that opium can be taken lightly. About growing o. poppies, I found them to be fairly easy. In my garden I go out in mid-march, rough up the top layer of soil, scatter some seeds and lightly rake so they are barely covered. My garden soil is pretty well conditioned, needs nothing extra specifically for poppys, at least as far as I know. After they come up they must be thinned so there are a couple inches between plants. After that I pretty much let them do their thing, I just pull weeds and wait for the pretty white flowers in June! In case anyone wonders, I got all of my seeds from pods I bought online. A few places sell pods with a hole drilled & seeds removed, but most come with seeds. A single large pod usually has a ton of seeds, probably over 100. Only ever got white or pink flowers from those seeds.
