I think if you dont fetilize it just water it it could work but it all depends on the climate and if the area of mushrooms are being directly fertilized with harsh chems.

Indoor mushroom cultivation requires a sterile enviorment I believe.

Check out Shroomery - Magic Mushrooms (Shrooms) Demystified They should be able to tell ya.

Sorry if thats not allowed mods.(Its not a cannabis forum)

ive been a member of shroomery for a long time and i've been growing mushrooms for a long time as well! it has to be very sterile when it comes to preparing the mediums etc. and the environment has to be very humid for them to grow i remember seeing a picture of a pot plant with 3-4 mushies from the b+ strain growing on it but i'd imagine the substrate already had a strong mycellium network prior to being "planted" next to the pot plant and the humidity was pretty high for them to grow!

i could be wrong but i dont think you could grow mushrooms side by side with pot as mushrooms require a very high humidity and before the mycelium network is established it needs to be in a very dark environment (for at least 2-3days to establish the mycellium network) and also needs to be in a very sterile environment (the mycellium network ones established above the substrate actually acts as a barrier to bacteria etc but that does not mean it cant get infected)

also, too much water can hurt mushies as well! it can cause nasty growth like green mold etc.

It's possible but not recommended.

Mushrooms cakes are grown on a bed of perlite
and consist usually of brown rice flour, vermiculite
and a little spring water.

It's something that has to be kept EXTREMELY clean.

I would think soil would contain a lot of other types of
fungus that could potentially cross contaminate.

Yes it's possible but it's a little unrealistic.

Ive done some pasture picking recently with great results. Looking into growing them next because the shroom experience is amazing. Not an every day or maybe monthly thing but nonetheless amazing on occasion.
