I have a lot of extra room in a cab I just built.

I have started to get interested in growing some other plants just for fun, maybe some veggies, and some flowers.

I would like to know if anyone currently does any of this type of growing in their boxes. What are some ideas/suggestions on flowers to grow?

Is there some place I can go to figure out the light schedule stuff, do flowers need to be forced into flowering like tomatoes and other fruits?

I was wondering about this too. I would love to grow some peppers. It would be nice to have them in a controled environment with everything top notch.

I've seen books about hydroponic food production at my local shop. I may pick one up some time if I have extra cash.

Thanks for the reply Dr. Funk - I think that is a very good suggestion... maybe I should look for the same at my hydro shops.

When I see advertisements for grow cabinets there is always some pretty lady tending to her wild flowers, herbs and vegetables. So there has to be some good info on growing these types of things indoors. I can't assume EVERYONE grows MJ in them

The first issue that I could see being a problem would be, could they thrive on the same nutes? I would be running them from the same reservoir, so it would add to the complexities. Maybe the peppers would develop some level of thc or flavoring by sharing the same res Then you would have to worry about variations of pests and what kind of climate do the other plants thrive in.

I bet if you were running a soil grow, things would be easier as everything could have it's own feeding regimen. Just would need to read up on pest and proper environmental control. This would be the only thing I could see being a problem.

Haha I doubt we'd have any luck with the THC vegetables. I would grow them in soil, I think the res issue may be a little tough to pull off as you mentioned. There is a lot too look into, just hoping someone would chime in with experience on photoperiods. I'm pretty sure I can take care of finding nutes, etcs.

But to have flowers actually flower, does the photoperiod need to be switched?

Some flowers, yes. I guess it's all seasonal. Find the right varieties that seem to coincide with the same growing season's as mj and they should fit. I wasn't even thinking about that, as I've started veggies early in spring and have harvested in summer.
