Here's a pic of Rosemary clipped from one of the many wild bushes in my yard. The leaves are smaller than in your pic. Maybe this one reminds you of roasted rack of lamb.

Below is a sage plant I have growing in my herb garden. I think your friend just might be into something.

Good growing.

Two fine herbs there Ned

Never limit the use of rosemary to lamb/mutton

It is a damn fine addition to bbq'ed fish, brilliant with boiled/roasted spuds and personally I find it nice in a curry (along with fresh curry of course) I have both rambling and traditional growing in my 'erb garden, the traditional is best for lamb, rambling for the experiments

After my lunch today, I have a new respect for fresh sage

It now occupies a vacant spot inbetween the oregano and lemon grass

There are many different forms of sage (genus Salvia) but tha picture doesn't look like any of the forms I have seen.

The wormwoods are a farily large genus ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artemisia_%28plant%29) that includes Absinthe wormwood as well as Tarragon.

A number of Artemesia specis have common names that include the term "sagebrush," which should not be taken to mean that they are true sages. Of particular note is California Sagebrush (A. californica), which does seem to resemble the picture you posted. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artemisia_californica

thanks

question... i was under the impression that this forum was not for the discussion of any hallucinogenic plants, at least that's what all the mods said when ya'll closed the salvia thread

This thread does not discuss the hallucinagenic properties of the plant, it only asks for the identification.

If you post a photo of a salvia divornum (sp) plant, we'll identify it for you too.

That answer it for ya? Yeah, thought so.

the other thread i was talking about was about the cultivation, not the hallucinogenic properties or use of the plant. same thing anyway - discussion of hallucinogenic plants. just salvia is much more well known for it.

so, no, it doesn't.

There is still some question as to the proper use of the Flowers & Herbs forum. The main thrust of this site is Cannabis. There are other sites whose main topic of discussion is Salvia or Wormwood or Coca or Mushrooms or Peyote or whatever. We would like to be a source of information regarding whatever plant is out there, but we will never be as focused and in depth about them as other forums that are out there on that Info Superhighway. We are working to state a clear Policy for the forum.

With that being said there is room for discussion. What would you have the forum be, microgrower?
