My mum was in the garden this morning, clipping blackberry and morning glory vine when she accidently snipped her virginia creeper vine. >.< She's been growing it for years, carefully winding it around her fence so it looks oh-so-perfect. It's a clean clip, close to the bottom. Luckily we only snipped a small part of it, but if there is a way to save it we will try anything! Right now the peice is sitting in a large vase on the kitchen windowsill... We're hoping it will root, but we're unsure. It's about 3 feet long with about 8 smaller vineys coming off of it, if that helps at all. For me mums sake, any advice will be much appriciated.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Leave the main stalk in the water. Take several cuttings from the side branches about 6" long. Strip most of the leaves from the cutting leaving a few. If you have rooting hormone you can dip the cut ends in it. Then stick the cuttings in moist potting soil. Virginia creeper is fairly hardy and it should root easily. Read up on Cloning threads. It's just like that. ![]() | ||
