I started some Habenero peppers about 2 weeks ago..give or take a day. They have sprouted and seem to be doing ok in the garage under shop lights(2/40watters) I chopped up one of my tomato plants after my gutter fell directly on it last week...so I have a lil bit of room. Any thoughts on whether I should take a chance with the peppers outside now? Its early July, Im living in "tha CHI". For the next 7-10 days its supposed to be high 80's/low 90's out there. Seems a lil late to be planting IMO, but I'm a My bell and jalepeno's are just showing their fruits.

Inside with flo's or give em some rays

Take them out to the big eye in the sky. You may want to place them in a semi-shaded, filtered sunlight area for the first day or two. That will give them a chance to get acclimated to their outdoor home. Peppers love full sun.

I love hot peppers

This is my third attempt at growing em. So far so good. I have two jalapinos one finger hot and one habenero on the go. Like buzz said..they like direct full sun. The dryer the air the better. A hot dry climate will help produce muy caliente peppers.
