Ok so i bought my g/f lillies for our 1 year anniversary and she likes them so much i was wondering if i can just transplant one outside? Or will they just die after they flower? | ||

| cut flowers? it can be done  I cloned a ginger lily last week! the poor thing had no roots but we try anyways right?like everything else... clip off the flowers and pull the lower leaves. set it in a mild 10-52-10 solution with some root hormone in warm soil or water and wait. tiger and asiatic lilies are easier to do than the day lilies though. | ||

| Lilies are usually propagated by division. Grow the lilies until they finish flowering and then let them die back and rest. Some lilies require chilling for several weeks before they will re-grow. Propagating lilies Did you successfully root a cut flower, Fillabong, or am I misunderstanding what you said? | ||

| Off topic a bit but still on cloning, Can orchids be cloned? Where would I cut?

| Orchids are divided. Usually 3-5 bulbs is a minimum for a successful division. Dividing orchids. Orchids are also propagated from seed and by tissue culture. | ||

| Hey Fillabong thats sounds nice and easy and ill definetly give it a try. I think i got some rooting hormone chilling somewhere in my garage. Hey buzz thanx for droping by i knew i could count on you  I read all that stuff from the link but none of it seems to apply since i dont have any bulbs to work with. These flowers were from a flower shop and came cut. Perhaps im just ignorant. Thanx a lot guys. | ||

| Buzz thanks for a link to that site, I took a picture of the plant in question but I bneed to resize the picture. Im using linux now so I don't have the ease of windows...
