I picked up a sachet of this plant's seeds. Has anyone here grown the stuff? Sounds like it will like the coastal california climate. Supposedly it contains a mild intoxicant and is sometimes called wild dagga.

It's a perennial here too. ![]() I guess first harvest will be about a year from now, starting plants now and keeping them indoors for the first winter. I'll be sure to write up a report on the stuff and take some photos. It's supposed to help the ladies with 'womens issues' so it could could also make me a happy man if it pans out on that front (any husband would agree!). Appearanly a cousin of it's has been grown for that purpose for a long time. Worst case, it's kinda pretty and forms a decent sized shrub, so I could find a place for it in my border garden. ![]() At $3/satchet, WTF! Last edited by megatrich; 09-19-2006 at 09:20 PM..

There are lots of sources, this is a semi-popular flower. I'd use a regular seed supplier over shroominshaman.org or whatever. This guy has it: Jim's Favorite Flower Garden Seed Selections List "A" and they also carry peruvian torch and san pedro cactus, tobacco and p. somniferum. You can put "FirstOrder" in the special sale section to get 10% off. Also here (where I got them, but less other relevant stuff): http://seeds.thompson-morgan.com/us/product/7301/1 Delivery was speedy. There's a related plant called lenotis nepetifolia which is supposed to be a little more potent, I'd have sampled both but I couldn't find a mainstream site that carried both. This place (Lion's Ear Seeds from Alchemy Works - Seeds for Magick Herbs and Pagan Gardens) had this to say about it: "This plant has long been used medicinally in various parts of sub-Saharan Africa, and the knowledge of this herb was carried to the New World by enslaved people. As far as its medicinal uses go, lion's ear's planetary influences are all over the celestial globe. For instance, in Trinidad, people boil the leaves and breathe in the steam as a treatment for asthma (Elemental Air). It's also a home remedy for diabetes in that country. In the Guayanas, people use this plant to deal with cramps and diarrhea, and as a diuretic (Moon), for kidney stones, skin diseases (Venus), swelling, thrush (a fungal throat infection), uterine contractions (Venus), wounds (Venus), and yaws. In the Congo, it is fed to cows who are not giving any milk (Venus) and is used to treat dysentery (Moon). In Africa, people smoke the leaves as a substitute for marijuana (those expansive feelings are very Jupiter)." Too bad pluto isn't a 'planet' anymore or they'd be able to include curing ED and making you shit gold nuggets... ![]()

![]() ![]() | i've been growing wild dagga for a while now.i normally extract the main ingredient from it instead of just smoking the whole plant.it really does increase your high if combined with bud,but not with salvia divinorum.but then again, one mans coke is anothers X,so it really does vary from person to person. ![]()
