...not much going on in here, might aswell chime in. i should have posted my wheatgrass guide in here now i think of it. So does anyone else grow aloe? i mean c'mon, why make pharmaceutical companies richer when there is a natural healing source (but in a way thats what we're all here for right )here are some of my little crop at various stages after transplant. many of you will know about the benefits of this plant. i start transplanting around the end of spring, great for skin damage caused by sunburn and cuts....heaps of other benefits also. ![]() whenever you get a cut or sundamage cut a length of the oldest growth (about an inch depending on your wound, just try and judge for yourself). squeeze out the gel moderately...you want the young sap and not the 'gluey'...'snotty' old gel. just try for yourself and you will see what i mean.i dont bother treating the plants wound after i cut, healing properties is what it is known for. you can also drink the fresh gel for its health benefits but for a constant source you would need a large crop i would think. other places can describe it better than me so here are some links if you are interested. aloe history growing tips general list of health benefits

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Been a believer and user of this plant for decades. Never heard of drinking it, but... For sunburn or skin burn, you can't beat it! We have a plant in the kitchen for just such emergencies. Another nice thing is that anyone can grow it...with minimum amount of gardening experience. Good post! Nelson ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I have one two, small but it is there. When I went to transplant mine along with some new plants that came up, I discovered that they really did not have any root system what so ever. Does yours develop a good root system? If so how are you taking care of it? Thanks TOS

Not much of a root system, but added some perlite just to give it some air. Dont overwater! I give it the occasional spray-mist with a little neem oil. Alot of the Aloe health is just getting a good one to start with ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I have been using Aloe since 1971, if not for aloe I would be covered with scars more then I am. When I was a vegetarian back then we used to drink it...yep..taste like shit and I never really felt a benefit from drinking it. I have aloe plants that have been with me for 35 years and have been growing great. These have been transplanted so many times I can't remember...sometimes an indoor plant and sometimes an outdoor plant. I would say as medicinal herbs and plants go I put this above MJ...well on an equal.
