At approximately 6:30 MST, Feb 7th the server hosting HC.Com suffered from an unusual system failure. It appears that our RAID controller failed in a disk mirroring task and that a mirroring loop resulted.

I did not find out about this problem until approximately 10 pm or so and I was in no shape to go deal with filesystem errors on the production server, so I decided to sleep it off and deal with it the morning. As you can see, things are fixed and we are back in business.

I've got a lot of work left to do, including running a consistency check on the RAID array - which will mean some more downtime sometime today...probably in the next couple of hours. Once the consistency check is completed and I am assured the RAID array is in good shape I am going to begin to run some more extensive repair on the databases hosted on the server, including the HC.Com db...yes, more downtime, probably not till this afternoon.

I need to get back to things now. Sorry for the inconvenience and the unexpected downtime. I got things back up the quickest and best I could.
