Help! Can't post pics.

Have tried to post pics from my digital camera but upload process keeps telling me that I'm limited to a 107kb upload, even in lowest setting my camera can't always produce a file of that size. I'm not a computer expert by anymeans, am I missing something, Zip file or other compression tool? Any advice would be appreciated . Thanks guys, great site.

Hi Freedom,

I sometimes have the same problem with my camera as well and have found that it really has to be at it's absolute lowest setting to get the files that small.

640x480 and then standard quality, not fine. You might even look to see if your camera has a jpeg option, which will automatically reduce the size for you.

If none of that works, your next best bet is to go to Marijuana.com and register there (it's free!) to upload pics and then link them here.

Good luck!

schreck

btw: I'm working with a Sony camera, if you are too I can be more specific about how to reduce those shots, if not, mention the brand of camera you are using and I'll bet someone else around here will know what to do....

thanks for info, at least I'm not alone. Pentax Optio33wr is the camera, i think I have it on lowest settings, one pic that didn't require the flash actually came in under, but all others with flash were just over. I try some more our like you said open an account. Thanks again.

Hi freedom35..

What you need is some software to edit your images once you have downloaded them on to your Pc, then you can take them at full resolution with the camera, and resize them down to the required size.
Check out download.com for some shareware image editing programs to start you off

You want to post pics at 72 dpi for the web. That would be the email or web setting on your camera. That is one way to get what you want. The other way is to take a pic at full resolution and then control your cropping of the pic and the size by resizing.
Peace-
