High Friends,
Im Klaas from the SeedFinder, maybe you stumbled about my strain-database before
(if not - have a look, you will find nothing like this anywhere else)

I hope its ok if i tell you short about my newest function, but i think its very interesting for all and my projekt is not a commercial one, too ;-) If someone think its not ok, please let me know about or delete the thread!

At this days i finished a new function to standardize most of the strain-informations like flowering time, growth behaviour, strength, aroma, taste, general impression, yields and so one. I made a big input-form in order to make the input very simple, and its also multilingual (at the moment german and english only), so i can collect the inputs of all around the world...
Additionally its all separated into indoor- and outdoor, too - so we will get very detailed outputs if someone looks for a special plant for special conditions Also an average plant-profile will be generated if there are more than one profile for one strain. Later it will be possible to find the best voted plants or strains who have a special percentage of stretch in the flowering (par example). Also there will be shown the average flowering- and harvesting-times for different climate-zones and so one...

At a great extra for the Outdoor-Grow-Form i integrated the possibility to add the latitude and longitude (simply by clicking onto a map) ! Its not exact onto a metre because the security, but i think 10km x 10km will be enough for this function...
But onto this way i can output a dynamic and sortable GoogleMap with all Outdoor-Plants into the database You can show all Plants including a shirt information onto the Map and you can order them by strain and/or breeder - and later also by latitude and/or flowering-times into special areas!

At the moment - because i finished this option right now - there are not very much output to view ;-) But here you have some links to the first beta-outputs of this plant-profiles...

Strain with an uploaded Indoor-Profile: The Church (Greenhouse)
Strain with an uploaded Outdoor-Profile: Voodoo (Dutch Passion)
Outdoor-Plant-Finder: All Plants onto a dynamic GoogleMap

All right... I hope you like it and you can see what will be possible into future even if its into a very early state... If you find something what's wrong or if you like o have (or miss) an extra option - please let me know about!

If you think its useful - please - upload your experiences!
It does not needs much time and you will help a lot to get better and more searchable strain-descriptions and/or a big outdoor-plant map who makes it much easier to find the best strain!

Ok, i hope i does not forget anything and my english was not to bad or funny ;-)
im glad to hear what do you think about,
see you later

Hmm, filled out a whole strain report, then it asked me to log in after, or create an account (but there was no icon or anything to create an account) so I don't know if I wasted my time. Not real user friendly, or I'm just too dense.

uh... perfect start ;-)
sorry about that but i think if you open the login into a new tab and reload the form after logged in - your data will not lost... but its a little bit late now i think ;-)

i think i will show the login-link little bit better at the top of the form... the links to crate the account and/or login are placed into the text who calls you to log in or to crate an account - it seems i have to make this better visible, too...

big sorry for wasting your your time, i hope you check it out again... but i wanted to show the form also without a login before, so guests also can see whats possible... maybe that was not the smartest idea ;-)

No offense, klaas, but I'm suspicious of new members who come into the Garden asking for help with a site that is connected to multiple seed companies. It just seems like spam/scam or better yet a business opportunity. So if you would like to go to PM rick, bobbooty, and I will be happy to converse with you .

hi again,
no problem, lets do it open

...at first, my seedfinder is not an commercial project, i dot have to make my money with this page... there is a liitle bit money with some advertising, but thats not the main goal...
this page started as an hobby, and i was nerved by all this bad lookalike-databases with adverts oall around and nothing behind. so i started to program an site special for this possibilities, and i think its well done up to now Im not the fastest because im alone and its all 100% hand made, but it includes a lots of great functions i like to have all the time before for myself ;-)
but back to the shops... i do not integrate any bad shop or all these affiliate-shops who only like to sell unlabelled seeds for lots of money! i only link to shops who are very serious - and i do so for free for a lots of small shops, they dont have to pay me money.... (some do so a little bit, but why not, i think thats not a problem and can pay the server)
So i hope i can hold the page mostly advert-free and clear and the database-aspect is clearly into the foreground!
My main goal is: collecting as much as possible good information about strains to get standardized and searchable strain-descriptions - and i hope they will be much better than the standard-breeder-descriptions if lots of growers worldwide input and share there experiences!

Btw... For non-commercial or other cool projects im always happy to share my collected data for free! If you like to have special xml-outputs for your pages - no problem
Argh... what a long text into bad english (sorry, its not so easy for me) - but i hope you see: im a nice guy and do not look for the money with this

klaas, I'll take you at your word. I hope that what you are doing is as you say, it's a good idea. I continue to have reservations about your motives and backing, but that's my suspicious nature at play.

Have you launched this at other sites? How did you come to the GardensCure?

By the way there is no doubt in my mind that your English is far better than my German.

yeah, i would do same if someone will come to my site with an advertising as the first posting *lol* ;-)

The Garden i found before a few months while i was looking for big oversee-communities to program my forum-connection-tool for the seedfinder. Maybe you realized that its possible to connect strain-related threads out of 20+ forums (simply by inserting the thread-id) direct to the single strain-descriptions
This function i added because i dont like to install a own community onto my page (i think there are enough good ones) and i wanted to give a place to collect the best strain-related reports and infos out of the most communities worldwide onto one page.
But at this time i had to much to to and the page was in a very early state, so i dont register here to tell about... Now its a little bit more presentable i think - and here i am ;-)

And yeah, i posted this to some more forums, but only once and never again if someone dont like or gave any feedback. I only do so because i need sometimes a little bit help for testing or upgrading a new function but i don't have a real community ;-) So what can i do ;-) But i think with this worldwide help i can program a very nice ans useful interface, so maybe its ok for you

...oh... its late, i have to feed some G13/HP ;-)
see you later,
klaas
