I dont think the smell has anything to do with the plant's sex, but I have come upon a unique situation. I have 5 plants growing, all the same age, same stage in growth. They are the same strain, from the same bag, from the same fat nug. One of my plants smells skunky as hell. The other four almost smell sweet. I thought they were all skunky until today. In fact, the smell has gotten worse and worse in my grow area (I dont care, its great.) The whole time I thought it was all the plants because I failed to smell them all. But, it is that single plant smelling everything up! Has anyone ever experienced the same strain with different smells? Is it possible the female will have this strong odor and not the males, or vice versa? Thanks!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | All marijuana plants are different, all plants of the same strain are different phenotypes, they are roughly the same but have diferent physical expressions of traits, in this case the trait that is smell is present in one plant more strongly than in others so we can say the plant is stronger in its phenotypical expression of the smell trait (smell is an alleic in expressoin, that is believed to occur at certain locii, its a polygenic trait, that is to say for it to be physically expressed it must be present across multiple genes). The upshot is pick that one as a keeper if you want a phat skunky smelling plant, I have had male plants with sickl sweet smells whilst others had little smell, my current Grapefruit phenos are just such a case, only 2 out of 20 have the desired grapefruit smell thats strong.
