I was just curious about which strain would be best for growing in very hot climates? I am able to water everyday but the sun is brutal during the summer. Also, any tips on which strain grows best in 5 gallon buckets?

Sativa dominant plants fare very well in hot humid climates- the sativas were originally indigenous to those heat and humidity extremes.
I have tried lots of different varieties, and all except one have done well for me outside.
I do choose my varieties with an eye towards "mold resistance" and "spider mite resistance".... it will state that in the variety description.
Some of the really tight, bushy indicas mold too easily when faced with a rainy season during late flowering. JMO.

Yeah Im with 3 hounds, any of the semi or tropical strains, the sativas or even better the sativa/indica hybrids will go extremly well in the warm cliamates. They key to a massive plant and opptimizing the conditions will be preventing the excess transpiration, a good mulch of the plants is critical and will ensure they maintain good capillary action and not wither from the heat.

Ive faced 95F to 100 F (30 C + ) for weeks on end with the old outdoor crops I did and providing I kept the nutrient fairly low and gave them plenty of water and mulched, they did real well outdoors.

Well, since no one else answered it, I guess I will...all plants will do fine in a 5 gallon bucket, except 12 foot monsters, but those usually come from the ground
