![]() | i have a few plants started from bag seed. I'd like to get an idea of what type of plant I have. (btw This is great fun) I have cloned some and let the other grow with little intervention. Can anyone give me some idea (general) how to tell ? ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() | When the females are into late flowering, take a very good, very close, sharp macro photo and find an expert to look at it. We like to ask OzGrowa around here, but realize that in most cases there is no way to tell 100%. If he were there in person the aroma, growth patterns, etc. would help to fill in the picture a bit, but it would still be a guess, albeit an educated one. What you can do is a bit of research on "indica" and "sativa". Those are the two main types of cannabis, and most of the varieties you see around are hybrids of the two. In a nutshell (a big nutshell) indica dominant plants are shorter bushier, with darker fat lobed leaves. Sativa dominant plants are tall, skinny, and have thin lobed leaves usually of a lighter color green. I'll attach a photo of the differences in the leaves. You can probably distinguish which type of leaf seems most like your plants- indicas produce more of a body stone while sativas are more of a head high. That kind of rough estimate (indica vs. sativa) is about all you can do to tell what you have while still in the growth stage.

![]() | Thanks hounds.... This sure gives me a lot of pleasure. You "experts" are too generous to us rookies with your time and advice. I hope someday I can pass what I've learned along too. Thanks again ![]()
