to order or not?

My last harvest was my first ICE harvest, from Nirvana. I also have a few seeds of AK-48 which I am sexing right now and they will go into my next grow (if I have females). Anyways I love my Ice, its my first hydro that I have smoked plus its my first real homegrown. What I am wondering is how much difference is there in different strains? For example another 2 strains I have been considering are Bubblelicious from Nirvana and Chronic from Serious Seeds. I am looking for a very good quality smoke along with a high output plant, I love smoking a lot and also love to cook with the stuff, so thats why the high output. Anyways I was just wondering if its really worth it to have more strains going or if I should just keep my ICE and AK-48 going until I get bored of it and then order new seeds.

Thanks for any advice.

The Indi pheno of the AK is quite potent and a very high yielder. The Sativa pheno has a great flavor that you just won't believe, but its not nearly as strong. You should find what you're looking for with that, if you haven't already with the Ice.
There is quite a bit of difference in strains, just make sure that their lineages are varied. Probably 1/3 of all commercial strains are variations on the same old (northern lights x haze with some afghani in there somewhere). Find out what its made of before you buy, or you'll end up with the same old commerci-kind.
Hit the bong for a link to the Big list 'o' genes, where you can see how similar and different strains can be
I've been planning on taking up landraces,I think you just reinforced that for me.

I'm a big fan of variety, especially since it's the spice of life and all, but if you grow out a plant that looks good you'll want to take some clones. Probably not a bad idea to hone your cloning mojo.

I am becoming a clone expert, not really but close. I have 2 mother plants right now and 3 AK-48 plants that I have taken clones from to flower the clones to figure out which of the 3 are my moms. From one of my 2 mother plants I took 42 clones about 2 1/2 weeks ago, I got 42 clones with roots from that and planted my 36 plants needed for my 3'x3' ebb n flow tray, not a single one of the clones have died yet (Knock on wood).

I am looking forward to smoking my AK-48 once I can, its going to be 15 weeks before I can harvest them, but I think it will be worth the wait. On my ICE plants I had 2 mother plants come out of seed, one of them was a VERY quick grower and got me about 18grams per plant, then other mom produced bud at about 8 grams per plant, if that, some did not even have a big main bud, so that mom has been killed and this time I am looking at 36 clones from the strong mom. Oh, that 18grams per plant is in my 3'x3' ebb n flow table under a 600W light that I flower straight from clones, no veg time.

Thanks for the advice, I am probably going to get some Chronic after a while, heard so much good stuff about it.
