![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | This thread is meant to be about how to deal with large and small critters at your grow sites. Thanks to PharmGirl for the Title! This is not the place to talk about bugs and insects or disease that affect your plants. The Nursery is the place for that. If you have methods tried and true to keep DEER, RACCOONS, SQUIRRELS, BEAR, RABBITS please offer them up here. Peace and Good Growing- OD

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | human pee dog pee every where a pee pee pee everywhere just not on the plants dog hair (sweaty hair is preferred) human hair(see above note) fishing line strung about thigh high and ankle high (they cant see it when it touches them and it spooks them) habanero pepper pastes (they really dont appreciate that one) btw if you are far enough away from everyone if you were to fire off a few "blanks" wink thatd scare things off real fast im probably forgetting a few but if you use these methods all together id almost give a 100% no critter guarantee

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hey Sleepyrz- The loud noise would work for you as you approach your grow spot, however, it wouldn't do much for the plants when you are not there. Any noise during approach would scare off most critters. Peace- OD ![]()

![]() ![]() | Chicken Wire!! I built a cage around my plant using trees as the post, this worked really well because spiders made webs on the cage which helped keep bugs away, but i don't take any risk when i comes to animals.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Just pee pee at your site on a regular basis, if it rains you'll need to "Re-Apply", because it was more than likely washed away. I was thinkin about putting a couple really small bells on the line i have strung up around my plot, just thinking that the slight ringing caused by the wind and by anything coming into contact , would scared the crap out of just about anything. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Lets start with the small ones.......beaver, otter and minx. They have their own highways and secondary roads.........the trick is to set them off in another direction. With my secret connection into the cosmetology industry, I can get mounds of human hair. Mr. Beaver needs to work and if you poke away at his damms he'll go back to work. If you can go to an animal groomer and get their fur.........right on! Moth Balls work for about 3-4 hard rains.......just keep em outa sight! Old motor oil in containers stashed keeps an odour in the air that only the wild will smell. Yes human number 1, goes without saying........ Now the BIG Critters, say the moose. Hardly a clumsy animal, he will walk directly in your trail. As you did to him! Gather up branches that Mr. Beaver has chewed up and stick them in the ground around the plants and in the trail. Trust me, he won't appreciate the deviated trail and he will move on. Deer are munchers.......and only when yer plants are in veg. He has a keen sense of smell and the moth balls in combo with the human hair will deter him. Bears are curious animals, they will come and see what you are up to. Check to see if you have fresh tracks when visiting the patch. This is where the dog hair comes in........most bear have heard and had contact with a dog. In the spring time mama bear is to be avoided, never get between her and her young. If you see bear, slowly back up and go another day! They are very destructive in a crop.........almost like 50! ![]()

![]() | pee bottles-get a water bottle and fill it up w/ cotton balls. poke small holes in the side then pee into the bottle. the cotton balls help keep the smell around longer. -VxO

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I do the urine thing, with a twist. I use a large ziplock with cottonballs and after saturating the big bag of cotton, I take a nail and poke a bunch of holes in the bag. Last year instead of human urine I went to the local sportsmans outlet and bought wolf/coyote/fox urine. Not sure which of the 3 did the trick or if it was a combination. Either way it left a strong predator smell in my outdoor spots.
