Hey, my plant is growing in a 3 gallon pot filled with store bought potting soil. My plant is about 6 inches tall. I've noticed that my plant leans toward the sun in the evening. I don't know if it leans toward the sun in the morning because i've never seen it in the morning but when i go to water it in the evenings it is always leaning at about at 45 degree angle towards the setting sun. I didn't know it this was good so I keept turning the pot so it was leaning away from the sun so all of the plant would get equal light but it always bends back the next day. So I left it in that position and didn't turn the pot for a couple of days and it is growing much faster but it is bent over. I was wondering if I should let it bent or should I keep turning the pot.

I think it may be moving with the sun (Leaning towards it in the morning and evening) but I'm not sure. I'll have to check it tommorow. Any advise would be great. Thanks.

Your plant is exhibiting what is commonly referred to as Phototropism - the plant bends itself to make the best out of the light available.

I made a GIF file of one of my plants doing just this sort of thing once. It's pretty neat, watching it spin around seeking out light! If I can dig it up, I'll post it here tonight.

Stay Green!

Demon53, it's perfectly normal and natural.

E.Cola, that gif is pretty cool. I have some time lapse equipment I haven't used in years that I may dig out and do something similar.

Toke it easy, Pan.

Yeah, Pan...I saw her bending one night & I thought it would be hella cool to make a time-lapse out of it.

Came out pretty good...considering I couldn't find my tripod mount!

Stay Green!
