soil mix for once a week watering?
permalink

Hello there outdoor people. =)

My you all have so much nicer tans then us hydro guys!

I am about to start a little outdoor adventure and I am limited to once a week watering. I dont want to do any sort of drip system or wick or anything like that. Would it be a good idea to use more vermiculite in my soil mix to retain water? I am going to use FF seaforest soil mix. Do I need perlite and vermiculite? You see where Im going with this. I await your wisdom. thank you

I've never used these water crystals, but I hear they work.

I've used water crystals in my garden in the past.
Now I'd say use a lot of peat, it hangs onto water.

In the ground or in pots?

Peace-

There really is no right way to grow, you have to resonate with a style and learn what you can,
tweak it to your own style and raise the bar each grow... OD '07

Im not really an outdoors grower but I have played in my share of dirt. I noticed that vermiculite has some incredible water holding capabilities. when used around 20% or higher. I used 30% in my container mix and was holding too much water. (even using H2O2, they eventually drown)
Sorry for all the rambling but yeah, vermiculite might be something worth mixing in. Should lesson a few trips to the grow.

Just my
