Question Should plants be taken in when nights become cooler?
permalink

I have been growing plants for about 8 weeks in an outside planter. All of the plants have 5+ fingers pretty much. I hear it take sabout 6 months until budding begins. If this is true, that will happen in first week of November. I live in New York so will I have to bring in the plants or will they survive and still bud when the evenings become cool (New York in October/November can be pretty cold!)
My other question has to do with the sex of the plants. I just simply planted seeds... how can you tell if they actually will bud or not. Can you tell the difference between male and female plants after they are at the 5 finger point? Is it possible to have the plants bud if you did not pay attention to the sexes of the seeds?
please advise.
Thank you!

A hearty,wholesome welcme to HC.Com.
You've been given a bumstear,it seems.Your plants should be well an truly finished in 6 months.
After 8 weeks of growth, sex will soon become apparent. You can leave them outside in maximum sun,and i try and give you a link...but then click the purple HERE..then male/female gender ID.(scroll down half way)
Will give you pics and info of what to look for.Hope its helped, anythin else you not sure of,,fire away again hey,and a champ from here will help i'm sure.
Good luck mishyyyyy,

Ps...sex cannot be ascertained by looking at the seed. You will never know till that baby sprouts, grows and then reach maturity.
