| Me and my freind found about 10 gigantic marijuana plants buy a creek about 4 miles out of town. They look like trees. Anyways we rode our bikes out there to get some(it was 90degrees and like 90 percent humidity and it was hot!! it sucked) we pulled out our ziplock sacks and crammed about 3 big bags FULL of buds and leaves.... i got home and realized that i should make sure they were females .. i have seen pictures of the differences but i cant tell on these... we werent really sure what we were doing and we ripped the buds of off one plant but the buds look like little green seeds... i think its a male but i cant tell on this plant.. can someone help me desypher what the hell its sex is???? its not really hairy and its not really like a male... it think we picked them too early in budding...there were like 10 feet tall | ||

![]() | Well, let's see...how should I respond to this one... First, if it looks like little seeds, it very well could be a male. Second, I can't abide stealing someone else's work. I know how I would feel if I woke up one morning to check on my crop, and found out it had been violated! ![]() I hope it's hemp. E.C.

| Well marijuana grows alot around here. I live about 50 miles north of kansas city mo and it grows ALOT between here ans there and even in a 70 mile radius of here you see it everywhere. Highway crews drive around and chop it down all the time. And where we found it there were quite a few huge plants and we took only a few of those bud deals you couldnt tell any way missing....I dont feel bad about taking it and other people will take from it and report it to the city and stuff.. | ||

![]() | There is a lot of wild hemp growing in Missouri I think...but as far as finding out if its male or female, you could try smoking it... PS., just because everybody else does it doesn't mean its OK. [This message has been edited by 420forever (edited August 15, 2000).]

Males and females are usually nearly equal in potency of flowers but other things like seeds, yield, taste, and harshness make females a more practical choice. The females live longer and have a more intense flowering time than males which gives them more focus on flower growth and time to make THC. Males that are cut down a couple of weeks after flowering are usually more potent than the females cut at the same time. Its nice to use the males for field testing when checking on your plants. Just look for the balls, and smoke 'em. Its almost impossible to not notice the balls or the hairs. ![]() -War

| I also recently came across about 6 plants on a ditch bank. I looked around, and so no other plants that bared a resemblence to them. They had some similarities to my plants, but were different too. The way the leaves were in sets made me think it wasn't bud. I have only grown bud once, but the plants dried up and are dying right now, so not an expert yet. But as I understand, as they mature, the number of leaves grows from 3 to 5 and to 7, and 9 I think (I've heard that 9 leaves is only found on one sex of the plant, not sure which, or if this is even true). The way the new sets of leaves were coming out looked like what my plant did, but on the more mature leaves, I saw sets of 3, but about 1 inch under the set 3, were 2 leaves coming out. The leaves looked exactly like what bud does, from the edges, down to the veins in the leaves. The stems were the right size and color*i think*. Also, from pictures I have seen of female hairs, I think these plants were female, I saw some little hairs at the internodes. (Not thinking, i didn't examin all the plants closely to see if some were male and others female) Some plants were about 5 feet tall, and had internodes of 6-10 inches, whereas some of the others were 1-2 feet tall, and really bushy. This makes me wonder if they were all the same age or not. Last time I checked them was about the last week of July, and there was no buds. I will be checking them again in a few weeks, and am hoping to find buds, but am not sure when mother nature causes plants to bud. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks. happymaxx53 | ||
