Yea, one of my buddies was telling me about how he grew about 10,000 plants up in the mountains. Didn't believe him until he showed me a picture of him standing, buried in a massive pile of bud, head and all, you could just see his eyes. And just so you know, he's about 6'5".

I nearly passed out.

a lil early in these parts too, but what the hell. keep the thread rolling right on through I'll have a few options for spring and summer as far as strains go..more than enough actually. I just won't have the space to grow them all out here and doubt I'll have the time to go bushwacking much this summer. had an offer to grow 15-20 mamas on some cottage property, might look into it further, might not.

Anyone ever used clay pots to preserve water?

I came across this a little while ago and was thinking about trying it. Basically you get a fairly large (1-1.5 gal) unglazed clay pot and bury it up to the neck in soil. Fill it with water and the water slowly seeps through the clay into the soil, the drier it is the faster the water comes out. I was thinking of setting up several pots around and between the plants. Since water only exits the clay when soil water has been diminished it should extend the time in between waterings by at least a few days and possibly over a week for my guerilla plots.

I guess the chinese and romans, and a few other ancient people used to use this in desert climates. It's supposed to be really efficient because the roots grow right around the pot and intercept the water before the soil can wick it away.

Here's a link so you know what I'm talking about
Environmental Restoration: Buried Clay Pot Irrigation

You can buy specialized (read expensive) ones here, they also have a demonstration of them in their blog area.

Hope someone finds this as interesting as I did!

I`ll be back to keep my eye on this thread again this year also.
I did ok my 1st time last year with the 2 plants from bag seed .
only harvested 3 z`ss but I`m still learning. I`m going to kick it
off with some seeds I ordered from dutch passion seed co.
"Trance"
Skunk/Indica. With 100% Skunk seeds, it's not possible to grow fully mature outdoor plants, because the seeds were selected for growing under artifical lights and greenhouse. Skunk was crossed with an early Indica, to let it mature sooner and to make the plant stronger for outdoor conditions. This is the F1 generation. It has come out as a very nice strain.
Flowering Period (Weeks) 7
THC Percentage null (11.1)
Type Mixed
Harvesting Month 10 (September-October)
Seed Bank Dutch Passion
Climate Outdoor
Feminized Marijuana Seeds No
Effect High
Difficulty Normal
I`m going to start this off by germinating and starting the plants in a
aero garden I just bought. the plan is to get them started find the ladies and use tham to clone from to build into a nice crop to all go outdoors for the summer at the right time hopefully a good harvest this fall. I know I may need to finish them off indoors due to the nearly 2 month flowering period but we`ll see what they look like at that time

well good luck to everyone on this years outdoor adventure

Dude I'm right there with you on that one. Last year I spent all my time cracking stems over so as not to be seen over my 6' fence. Total hassle. And yet it was all good at that height. 7lb from 5 plants. 3 in pots. The only problem with doing that to them in pots is you end up with these giant mushroom shaped plants that like to go crashing down in the wind. Nothing that a few cinder blocks didn't take care of. I think some NL/Haze this year.

I'm putting out 20-25 clones, hoping for 4-5 lbs. Plus a small (muahahahaha) test plot in my garden.
