Hi all,

Been lurking here for about two and a half years now...allow me to start off by saying that I am really into plants. I love growing them and in general know a good bit about plant physiology, morphology, growth and development, etc. However, having never had the opportunity to grow MJ, I have not had the benefit of experience. So all feedback is appreciated!

I want desperately to grow MJ, but due to my living situations and some other factors, it's just been out of the question for a while. So while biding my time, I've just been reading, reading, reading, trying to prepare myself for the day that I really can put things in motion.

That said, this summer I think I have the opportunity to try my hand at at a guerrilla grow. I haven't finalized any location yet, but I've found some pretty good spots in the woods, located fairly close to a small, clear creek which ought to provide clean water.

My plan at this point is to put 10 or so plants in hempy buckets out in the woods. Hempy is appealing to me for several reasons--firstly, the two gallon bucket size is nice because I will be backpacking all my materials pretty far into the woods. Five gallon buckets do not fit in a backpack. Secondly, it seems to me like hempy has pretty good water retention. I'll be able to get back there a few times a week I imagine, but there may come the odd week in which I'm only able to visit once or so. Third, vermiculite and perlite are appealing because like I said, I'll be backpacking everything in, and they're rather lightweight.

I'll paint my two gallon buckets with some sort of flat brown/green paints, to camouflage them as much as possible. With the light weight of the hempy buckets, I imagine I'll have to stake them to the ground somehow to keep them from blowing over, but that shouldn't be a problem.

So all that being said, I have just a few questions to ask the more experienced/seasoned growers.

What do you people feel is the best time to visit and tend to plants, as far as remaining unseen? Dawn, dusk? I guess midday is probably the worst, with most people out and about.

Regarding nutrients: what can you guys recommend for this? Specifically naming a brand or formula would be very helpful for me, as well as feeding schedule. I understand hempys are able to withstand full feeding almost immediately? I've never used any of the nutes that are so common around here, the vegging and flowering formulas. Do they have dilution rates on the bottle itself?

Do you guys feel that my plan will work? Is there some critical flaw I'm overlooking? Any feedback is appreciated.

Oh, and I'm a greenhouse technician and have done professional greenhouse construction in the past, so if you have any questions regarding those you can shoot em my way and I might be able to help. No promises though!

I hate to sound negative, but I don't think it will work, unless your able to go out to your spot several times a week. I think they will require too many waterings. Go dirt.

You could use black plastic bag pots, no problem carrying those.

Yesterday in the hardware store I saw 5 gal plastic buckets with camo paint on them. I thought of all you guys.

This is a perfect time of year to do the "load in." As far as when to visit, you'll have to figure that one out based on your locations.

The easy thing to do is to get Peter's 20-20-20 and that would do it.
Easy to find. If you want to do organics the easiest thing is fish emulsion. There are so many fert combos by many different companies... it's difficult to recommend anything in particular. I like cheap and easy and organic myself.

I don't know about hempys but sticking to a schedule with the grow is a good idea. I fert once a week and I do it on Sundays.

Thanks for that offer. I'm building a kit and am concerned about dealing with humidity, especially in late flower.

Good luck with your plan, if your spots are remote, they sound great.

Peace
