Pine Trees?

Well I'm a first time grower and I've heard many things. But I was wondering. Do pine trees pull as much heat as a Marijuana plant?

what do you mean, pine trees pull as much heat? are you talking about IR? im not sure what you are talking about.

Yeah like when a helicopter is flying over with IR ( infra red right? ). i was told since that it pulled the same amount of heat so it was pretty much undetectable.

ah ok, yeah you could plant them in with the pines. another good tactic ive seen people do is build platforms in the trees, and put them in pots and grow them above the ground, and use the trees as cover. its harder for them to find it that way, both from the air and ground.

Yeah I was reading about that in another topic earlier. but i don't have the supplies for building in the trees. so i think ill stick with under pine trees XD.

In helicopters, they use infrared cameras and other equipment that can detect cannabis by measuring the heat and reflective signature of the vegetation below. Cannabis has higher reflectivity at certain wavelengths than other rural crops, such as corn. Law enforcement agencies have found that the use of this technology has become necessary in their detection efforts because many growers hide cannabis among other plants, making detection with the naked eye difficult even from the air. These techniques are effective and difficult to defeat because a plant's reflective signature is difficult to change or mask. It has been said that if the cannabis plant is planted by a pine or cedar tree the heat from the tree will overlap the cannabis plant heat making it harder to detect from helicopters.The resin on the cannabis plant is what make it visible by infrared,dry conditions are what causes resin production.[citation needed]

soil around pine trees can be pretty acidic so you might want to check it before transplanting any of your girls too close to them. Ive checked and have found soil not too bad in some areas while in others soil ph was as low as 4.5, too low for

definatly clear all the pine needles out, and add lots and lots of lime.

cedar trees give of an almost identical signature as mj, and will also cover some of the smell. they are an evergreen too, so in the fall the arent yellow or red . my area of the country is covered with them i love it
