![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | No pot outdoors for me this year. Indoor seeds are an even harder time starting outside. The weather has been and still it wet, damp and unkind. When the dampness dries a bit the bugs have a fiestsa, and the next day it rains some more. ON THE POSITIVE SIDE: Finally, yes finally, I am the proud father of 2 Giant Sequoia Seedlings. I still have a few more seeds and would like to grow 4 together into something special. I may not be around when they are 400 feet tall, but they are something I would like to leave behind when I am gone.

-Where do you get Giant Sequoyia seeds? Sound like a great tree. I'll tell you one tree i can't stand, its the Sweet Gum. Those trees are messy ugly and plentiful. They drop sweet gum balls. Low quality troublesome tree. Im gonna take 5 down in my back yard when i get some time on my hands. My neighbors probably think i hate them because i just planted 15, evergreens directly behind the fence line. They're great, providing privacy a windscreen and lovely green foliage and aroma yearound. Two appear to be wilting pretty bad (I dug them up and transplanted them to the yard from my spot in the woods-so two birds one stone). My other location is filled with sweetgums, id say close to 100-125 sweetgums. These trees take over, so this spot wont be good for many years after this. The MJ plants on the other hand are looking great, as of now i have 11 indoors, 5 at spot 1, 18 at spot 2, and 2 at spot 3. Spot three is my garden so i didnt want to go overboard there. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Might wanna watch spot #2 ![]() Numbers liek that get a little more obvious from the sky. Typically i wont put anything that gets me into double digits in one place. I did it a couple years back and though the pigs didnt get it, the aroma was enough to draw somone to the spot and they got ripped.

![]() | it has different spots inside the spot. I should be covered. When i went to check on "spot number 2" i noticed that 4 plants had died. and one had been topped ? ? it was a natural top though. Phew. I know it was natural because besides superman, im the only person who would go in this forrest. But yeah, those 11 inside are being baby sat right now and are going out into the wild too hopefully tommarow. I redid my calculations and if all goes well with these 11 plants, i will have 30 total. All bagseed many genetics accumulated over a 2.5 year period. 30/2= 15 -lets say 3 die, 1 turns herm, and another gets ripped. that would still leave me with 10 female plants.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | At least your thinking ahead in terms of numbers. Somthing im STILL screwing up with. ![]() I started with 30 plants out of a particular batch of seed this year hoping for around 20 and i am still only left with 14 after all weather, pest, and pissy luck was said and done. Seems to me That its best where i live (WAY north in the US) to start with at least twice what i want in the end. I then subtract THAT number in half to figure females. I lucked out this year with the seed im growing and ive gotten a very exceptional number of girls, but usually half and half is the best i get for a ratio out of "bagseed"

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Forgot to mention.. The only "natural tops" ive seen happen have come due to slugs eating the tops off plants. DEFFINATELY watch you crop if thats the case here. Youll be able to tell. It wont be a clean snip of the new growth. ![]() If you have slugs getting into you plants you could easily end up in my predicament. Which is all out devastation! Slugs can devour a plant damn near overnight. Especially if you get a few days of strait rain and everythign stays moist. I trust you know what your doing. I wont preach. Just giving my own FYI from bad experience and a particularly bad year with garden pests.

You can get head start buying off eBay. I remember the price being fairly cheap for 2 and 3 year olds. There are seeds too. The seedlings are only 2 inches tall but for some reason, maybe the memory of standing under the bigs ones. The tiny babes look huge. Imagination needed, as I would then be a giant looking down over the trees.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Decided to start the training on this FIM'ed female sativa bag seed plant this morning, Cancer patient take note. There are lots of LST threads going on but not many pertaining to doing it in the great outdoors. We are the minority, those inside guys think they hold all the marbles on tieing down plants. You aint seen nothing when trying to restrain a large plant that has a mind of its own. This plant got topped "FIM'ed" at the fourth node when it was a squirt and very slow to recover. When it did recover it produced 5 stalks or branchs. I want to keep this plant under 8ft, so I am taking the steps now to keep it as short as possible. It will get extremley wide, similar to this other sativa mystery that I have also been training. She is just a little further along. I have a few others I may not be as aggressive with the bending because they are pure indicas and seem to grow naturally short already and the FIM job I did on those girls needs more time to take hold. They are slightly behind my sativa sisters you see pictured here.
