After transplanting and watering/feeding, my girls still look very thirsty to me. It seems like the existing soil does not retain water while the surrounding (new) soil will stay moist throughout the day. The temp has been 100+ for the past couple weeks or so but they never seemed to mind the temp before. The one thing I think I fucked up was watering them during the peak heat. Usually I wouldn't but they looked real sad. The third girl (pic) is the one transplanted one day prior to the rest. the Last one is the newest edition to my garden. Its jack herer and super silver haze just for comparison with their perky leaves vs. the kush which looks stressed

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | good evening, fellow gardeners. spent the day up at the farm. between that crazy infection that had me down for 1.5 weeks, and the last minute trip to see judas priest in the midwest, this was the 1st time i've been up there since we planted them. the bubblegums are looking fantastic. the headband is doing almost as well. the super silver haze, cannalope haze, and osi are moving a good bit slower. this is the 1st year we've gone with soaker hoses, and i'm not sure i'm liking it. it seems as tho they soak some of the soil, while everything on the outside edge remains dry. that is not conducive to root development, and i think the plants might be suffering a bit as a result. in any event, we're going to ramp up the feeding schedule (full feed 1-2x/week, chicken poop soup 2x/week) and see if we can push them a bit harder. since we're running organics, i'm not too concerned with nuteburn. we hit them fairly hard last year, and they loved it. hopefully, this year's batch will respond as well. so, it was 100f up there today, and running around the place with a big camera was not my idea of fun.....so the pics are kinda limited this week. good enough to get the point across, i suspect. i hope all are well and staying cool. peace- arnold layne

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hey Arnold...those girls are looking just fine, especially since being on their own since transplant ![]() Do those strains naturally bush out like that? I cant get mine to spread without LST. You certainly have a few contenders for Swordfishes thread 1 Lb per plant or go home IMO. Good luck for the completion of the grow....keep us posted. A few pics of my garden taken a couple days ago. Weather, and insects have been a challenge this year....real cool temps at nite, (into the 40's F a few times, and not a lot of sun)....anyways we carry on ![]() Choc Chunk lloking real good after LST....Amstel freeze varieties, (3), all except one strain are doin fine....in preflower already...these are supposed to be ready in August...we will see.... ![]() K.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | hey kawliga- thank you. you have some fine looking specimens yourself. the girls haven't been on their own. there are a couple of others who tend to them while i'm away. the bushiness is a result of their environment and topping. it's very hot and dry up there (last couple of days have seen almost 100f during the day, upper 60's-low 70's at night), and we tip them every 2-3 weeks....almost every branch. they get full sun from morning to sunset. the combination of those things give us monsters....4-5 lb per is the norm. trimming a crop like this is just short of a nightmare, but it's nice knowing i'll never run out of smoke during the year (my stash jar is a 5g bucket). peace- arnold layne

Nice yields....4 to 5 pounds...cool...do they get real tall...? You mentioned you are nuting organically...mind if i ask what you use? Home concocted teas or store bought? Hoping for at least 2 Lbs per for my girls this year....normally with my Afghani strain that I grow I get about 2.5Lbs....but they grow much taller than the choc chunk...I guess we'll see. Long as I can make ith thru to harvest I will be happy. Take care....looking forward to more pics of your monsters... K

Here is a glimpse of a guerilla patch, the one I got in later then the others (hence smaller plants). Also a view of the irrigation getup, 50 gallon thingamajob with a pipe going into the top fed by a springfed creek. Bottom has this faucet and watertimer that runs out a good distance to the plants.
