. I get excited every year when I see this thread ! I already mixed up 60 gallons worth of amended medium in the fall. If you're starting from seed and you can keep them indoors until spring , it is better to start sooner than later! ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Thanks for the info surfbum, I was thinking about starting those next. I'm not too picky as long as I get 1 male and one female to make some seeds my money was well spent.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I guess i'll get in on this. its still freezing out but its been warm the last few days some of the feet of snow outside are starting to melt lol. will be late april before i turn soil around here. I got some plants started indoors though to clone for my future outdoor crop. It's been a long winter already and spring cant get here fast enough for me.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Ripcord I too have some cold hardy seeds. This will be my fourth year with this strain and I breed them last year. Do not know them name of them but they sure are good. Ive got 3 purple and two tall mexican brown and one mex male I used to pollinate last year. The 3 purple set nice mature seeds and not a lot of them . the mex. set an million seeds and most were not mature do to the fact they are not acclimated to the cold like the purple. Im looking forward to this years grow.

While walking fido the other day I came across an area that I overlooked in the past as a potential grow site. This area is surrounded by private farmland that is minimally worked but none the less open mon-fri with gates announcing when employees are present. The rear portion of the property falls off into some disrepair and goes into a steep embankment with a bowl like area that gets full all day sun. While there I studied the area I would need to park at and bring in a few bags of compost to work the soil in a few months time. I also have been driving by the area dureing working hours for many months now and rarely see anyone but one or two farmer guys there occasionally. Without going into to many details, I think these guys are low paid employees on part time landscape hours. I also think the place it provides for is going out of business, so it is a ghost farm most of the time. I have never seen significant farming there anyway and my area is a good distance away from any areas visited by any crews. I still have to make things look natural and thats the easy part I think, the area on the outskirts is dense with natural vegetation and strikeing a bunch of seedlings late May may work for me at this spot. Another great thing about this spot is I can do a close and accurate recon of any human activity after business hours to assure aint knowbody around. The parking and access couldnt be better. Very little to arrouse suspicions when your out and about early AM with your dog either. Im still going to closely moniter this spot for a couple of months at different hours. Im getting a good feel for the lack of activity there. I like a spot I can judge from every perspective or angle when im approaching or departing my plot heading back to my vehicle. City growings a bitch, I dont expect any of you back country guys can relate. My outdoor enthusiasm is tempered by buildings everywhere. There use to be some trail heads I used for grows where you could park and load your gear unobserved from the community around you. Now these dam builders put houses there and your parking and lugging soil days are over. I know of alot of approaches for good plots ruined by new homes popping out of knowhere. Big liability to be seen at odd hours by these new inhabitants. This plays a huge factor in my selection process. I like to arrive and depart unobserved and even then have a dog with me for a cover story. Getting anxious however to dig holes but a few months can pass before I need to do that this time. Like to add some grow-mulch one month before planting to allow the animals to inspect it and go thru it, birds have a field day with new soil. I think I should get better survival rates doing this. Not going to invest in pricey seeds for this endeavor. Just some bag seed ive had for several years. This seed produces very large sativa like plants, some were over twelve feet in the past. Not super impressive smoke but makes for some good bubble. Who knows maybe ill spend some money on some short indica varietys, that are more to my liking and dont turn into monster plants and are more concealable at this new grow site I found. Looking forward to this outdoor season....

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I took my clones (these are cuttings from last years ourdorr grow) out of the closet today and took a couple of cuttings. One I put in dirt with a dome the other I put in a glass of water on a windowsill. I don't really need most of these plants. There are 16 in the cab and they are all large enough to take about 10 clones from them. ![]() I'm just trying to stay tuned til planting time this May. ![]() Peace- OD
