![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Out of a pack of ten seeds from what was claimed to be purple kush + bubba this staggly looking delicate plant was the result. Nice little preflowers forming and she was moved up from a 15 gal cont several days ago to this tree box. Im not expecting much from her as she almost resembles one of those Japanese Maples with small dainty like leaves. I figured the extra soil would help things along and maybe she will get a bit bigger in the months ahead. Sorta resembles a cheese clone I grew out indoors once. ![]() ![]()

I agree with tread in that sativas have a longer life span in general so often are slow to show sex. Most of my plants tend to start showing well before the females start to preflower Most males, but not all of them....depending on strain etc; will shoot up very rapidly and there is often a LOT more distance between internodes than the females . Smell doesn't have much to do with it as you can have a very dank smelly male but i doubt that you do. ![]() The sativas I currently have out are not for my area but I am sure some will make it. If you have them close to your home which it seems like you do, then you might want to consider putting up a piece of plastic so when the weather starts becoming to damp and there are signs of frost, your buds will be safe. A good hardy indica can handle a heavy frost or two BUT sativas are generally more sensitive for the most part. I'm very curious to see how my sativas are this year It does kind of look like a japanese maple ![]() . I don't have any new pictures to show but it was cool seeing all the new pics Last edited by Lacy; 08-04-2009 at 01:10 PM..

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Yep mine look at about the same point Swordfish. If they're not finished by October, I'll have to drive them back to an indoor location. Last night went to see them looked like a deer or bear had been through. One big plant knocked over and a smaller branch bent on one of clones. Also because of all the dry hot weather I think I might have a couple dried out on me in 1 gallons. To do it right with any substantial amount of plants I'd have to camp out with them all summer. Its hard to get pictures where they are I dont want to be heat score. I'll try to get some today though. Pretty sure the heat around here has more to deal with than a few schwaggy outdoor plants. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | My girls just started showing their sex (true-signs that is). While they are all bagseeds, they all appear to be Sativa dominant with one showing a nice blend w/ Indica. The blend showed sex first (naturally) while the other two just entered sexing. Our days here are about 13hrs long still (SE U.S.). At the rate they are growing, I am expecting harvest to be mid-late October. That would be right about the time the temps actually start to drop below 90+ F. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Ya Shrubs it is small world. I'm southern Ontario boy myself originally. Thunder storm and lightning eh? Ya we had some out here about a week or two ago. Rare for the coastal temperate rainforest to see any thunder or lightning at all.... and it actually went on for a few hours. Never seen a storm like that in 7 years of living on the coast. Saw my share in southern Ontario though!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Quick update while I have some time... These pics are from 8/3. Plant is showing some nice new growth, still no sign of sex though. Main stem is not even at alternating nodes, but every side branch is. So its getting close. Ill be so dissapointed if this turns out male. I retied it down, as you can see in the last two pics. (its about 16 inches from the ground up to where it got snapped just for reference. About 42" now if it were straight up and down.)

If it's not the gardners that the GF insists on having it's these guys. I know these guys cause massive crop destruction because it's happened to me. It can happen to you. This trap hasnt snared anything in two weeks until today. Im not in the biggest rush to dispose of this guy and provide him with a lunch and a bowl of water like the last one I released. Part of me wants to stomp the little bastard into the ground but that wouldnt solve much. The best rabbit fencing in the world wont keep these guys at bay. They can climb and fit where rabbits cant and unless every square inch of your gorrila patch 100% chicken wire up and over your plants these guys will devise a way to rip up your grow especially when the plants are young, like back in May when I lost a patch to these guys. Will the suspense never end. ![]()
