I dont know how many of you know about this already, probably everyone. i dont grow outside, but this looked like a pretty cool thing when i found it. Basically its a bag that holds 15-35 gallons of water, depending which size you get. The bottom of the bag is a fairly standard drip emitter fitting on it. The bag is placed around the "tree" trunk and slowly and continually keeps the plant hydrated. i found these at lowes being sold as the Treegator. they are also available online. the treegator is 15 gallons, but they come in up to 35 gallons under the name "Ooze tube" the ooze tube comes in a single plant or a "tomato growers" kit this kit includes 25gallon bag, a length of drip line and several emitters.Seems like it would be easy enough to stash one of these somewhere, irrigate your plants requiring less frequent trips back to the spot, only to refill the bags. if you are cheap like me, these look alot like the water bags used to weight down pool covers in the winter. ![]() ![]() Ooze tube 25 gallon Tomato System Treegator 15 gallon tree donut Last edited by Luke Highwalker; 04-01-2009 at 04:14 PM..

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | apparently the emitters are sunk into the ground quite far, and the contents of the bag drain over the course of about 8 hours or so. hmm. im sure with some rigging you could regulate it down a bit. a battery operated garden sprinkler timer should do the trick. just thought it was cool looking...no idea if its useful or not. but its gotta beat sittin a bucket next to the plant with a 1/8th hole in the bottom.
