i'm gonna try my first outdoor this season. i have no experience, so i bought brown dirt warriors, "master grow guide." it's full of info.! he suggests topping. i got some columbian skies, beans from dr. greenthumb. supposed to average 4 elbows per plant. we'll see about that!

clay is by far not the best choice, but can be done. what i dont like about it is, it dries out fast when the sun hits it. it drains slow as hell. doesnt seem to contain as many nutrients. and is just too compact.

If I may dip in here; on the subject of Clay? IYO, Does Clay lend itself to a particular ph range, or does it have more of an inert nature?

Thank you

i think clay is pretty much the lowest of the low of growing mediums lol... and i myself have clay-rich soil in my ground.. but i dug up holes and filled them up with good soil.. so heres my question: WILL THE PLANTS ROOTS SYSTEM GET ROTTED OR WILL THE ROOTS JUST GROW FAR DEEP AND SUCK UP WATER ???
