Ok so I was at the store a while ago and they had these mini walk in green house kits. Basicly some tent poles and a nice cover, with some metal shelves. It's a pretty sweet deal for less than a 100$. One of these: CLick here to view... So I plan to grow some veggies, a cannabis plant or two, you know the good stuff... I'm open for suggestion here. I'm not familiar with growing in a green house. So far it's feels really freaking warm with the door zipped up. Too warm. So I'm guessing I'll need to do something about that. I'm thinking the floor should be something that is relatively pest free, not my lawn basicly... So maybe a couple sheets of plywood and/or a few bricks?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I'm not too worried about stealth. I live way out in the country. I'm a state registered medical cannabis patient and grower. I would likely only have one or two small plants in there, or move them into full sun if they got too big. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Is the plastic green, or is it my eyes? I thought plants don't obsorb green light...Wouldn't a green plastic greenhoude change the spectrum of light? Not completely, but it seems it would waste some light to me.....??? It looks cool! I think if you cut out both ends at the top, and ran a fan if you had to...That could keep it cool. I don't know, i've never grown in a greenhouse before... ![]() I would throw a couple sheets of plywood down for the floor, I think it'd be fine. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | it's green mesh, about 1/4-1/2 inch mesh size, and what appears to be a clear plastic vynl/rubber\ I'm thinking a fan or atleast some vents would be good too. I'm just tryingto figure out how I would regulate them. Running a wire for power is a possibility, but I'd have to move the entire greenhouse, not too complicated or hard given how light weight it is. Maybe some 4" dryer vents, that have those flaps, and a small duct booster fan and some panty hose for filtering out insects. Right now I'm thinkg about mixing this for my outdoor soil. One 2 cubicft bag of Fox Farm Happy frog soil, mixed with one bag mushroom compost, some Dlime, and added perlite with touch of vermiculite. I'll use dry ferts to feed, so Happy frog Jump start, and Peace of Mind Fruit N' Flower. Last edited by Rev.DOS; 04-06-2009 at 10:38 AM..

![]() I've seen a greenhouse vented like you mentioned with 4" dryer vents, and the fans ran on propane. I would think an outdoor extension cord would be easier though. Just don't run over the cord with your lawn mower! ![]() How hot does it get in there?

but, first.. Im gonna spout out what i was thinkin when i read this. I love you guys for the info and cannabis friendly environment you provide thus far, so call me on it if im wrong BUT I was thinking more along the lines that the green exterior might AID in light filtration. Green srufaces (like plant leaves) reflect the green (and unusable) portion of the light spectrum. I once looked into using colored acrylics when i built my light cooling system, in an attempt to alter the MH spectrum of light without having to buy expensive Sunmaster bulbs. All of what I gathered personally on the topic was conclusive that passing light through any translucent object would not alter the spectrum emitted but ony filter parts of it. Kind of like the way water filters out certain parts of light (which i discovered in a post when i joined the forum) I was thinking more along the lines that teh green shell to the greenhouse would actually reflect the unusable green light and only allow passage of the rest of the suns spectrum into it. How retarded does this sound to the rest of you boys (and girls) ???

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Im gonna google the shit out of this one for my own personal satisfaction. If im wrong ill let you know. I can suck up the losses. I just figure i have the inalliable right to respectfully dissagree since once of the local flower nurseries here in town is in fact green vinyl. I was gonna shut up but now i cant.. .. ill be back shortly with the results of my search.
