So I got 4 seeds or so from this bagseed purple hazer stuff that I have and I've started to grow those etc, but I just realized there could be more seeds in this big bud I have here. Only thing is I don't want to break it up until 4/20 weekend when I'm going to smoke it. If there are more seeds within this bud then would beginning to germinate these on 4/20 weekend be enough time for me to begin to grow them under a light then transplant outside in time for them being able to harvest etc. I know it wont get really cold here for atleast 3-4 months. Is it only the seedlings that can't withstand below freezing temperatures, if not what are the temperatures that the 2-3 month old plants can survive. Also, with the other seeds that I first used, I started them in jiffy pellets then transplanted the pellets to these mid sized 2 quart pots, fairly small but big for a really small plant. Would it be better for me to start in the jiffy pellets or just start them off straight in the 2 quart pots(not 2 pots, one 2quart one). Or does it even matter. I'm asking this because I just transplant them into the 2quart pots in like 1-2 weeks. Also the 2quart pot things are biodegradable, made of a cardboard type substance, bends really easy when wet and its in a tray to collect the water that leaks out of the bottom. I just plant these in the ground outside and the roots grow through them.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Im up for the same activity this comeing weekend. Im seeing some tap roots on my beans this morning and will be putting them in Jiffy pellets latter today. A two quart pot is somewhat overkill for a small sprout although ive done it the way you describe. As of late I bump them up to a two quart after the jiffy pellet has produced a nice healthy sprout and is transpireing the water I give it. Be very carefull if you intend to veg them indoors for any length of time. Forget everything you heard about 18/6 and a 24 hour veg time if your plants are going to be placed outside. Please get your local newspaper and find out sunrise and sunset times for your area and set your indoor timers to match those times. The plants respond slower than if grown the way an indoor grower would do things. This wont hurt your plants to only give them 14 or 15 hours of daily lite. The reason this is done is to prevent the plant from fully flowering out by mid summer. Trust me if you blast your plants with an 18/6 lite indoors, you will have some very pretty healthy plants but when placed in the dirt outside in a month or so they will be fully mature by mid July. You should wish to avoid this, as the buds are not the same as what you get at the end of fall. Whatever time you start things, you will still have to wait untill the late fall to retrieve any type of harvest. You dont want your plants finishing to soon. Young sprouts have a memory of sorts and so do mother plants that clones will be taken from. If you take clones off a plant that is receiving 18/6 and place them outside before June 1st you are bound to get an early flowering plant with most strains. If you are prepared to keep them indoors untill mid June you may fair better. You didnt indicate anything about taking clones but the same concept applys to seeded plants with the lite schedual. I dont understand why you say it will get really cold where your at in 3-4 months, if anything that should be the middle of summer?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | 4 months would put him at about August. Where im at in maine August starts to get fairly chilly. Especially at night. However, plants are safe from dying a few weeks into September if there are no recuring frosts. Mid June is when you see the longest days of summer. The 18th i believe, is the longest. Then you start counting down. As long as you have a month or so of indoor Veg. and get them out before the 18th of June you should be just fine. ![]() P.S. Do take heed of watching daylihgt outside. You can hermie good plants if you bounce light hours back and forth.

Well, I have to leave for class at 5 in the morning so I turn my lights on then, then when I get back I turn them off at 5-6. The sun rises at around 6:30 and sets at about 7 or 6:30. Unless I go and go buy a light timer at the store. Also the pots cant be to much overkill as long as their growing in there, and I don't want to have to keep transplanting them. The pots were like bigger jiffy pots. I wont be transplanting them outside for a while, just until I can't keep them in their little container. 1 and a half foot up or so. I also planned on topping the plants so that they don't get way to big. Also the question about the temperature is.. what temperature can a 1 and a half - 2 month plants withstand. Plants that are decent in size but not huge. Sometimes it gets 30 at night and 90 during the day.. and this is east coast USA NC lol.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | your gonna wanna extend you light period 12-13 house of light will force flowering. You gotta remember the days are still getting longer too by the time you put them out it will be daylight alot longer. In my experience it works out best to put them out 1st or 2nd week of june. Id leave them at 16/8 or 15/9 any longer dark period will make them flower and your plants will be confused as hell. 30 degrees is pretty cold Id say high 30s is the lowest you wanna go. Ive had plants live through a couple light frosts though. If your running 600 watts or less a timer is only 8 bucks at wally world

Uh I got them on 12/12 or 13/11. I'm going to start turning them on exactly 6 and off at exactly 6, until I can get a timer. Then I can set it to go on when the sun rises and sets, based off my local weather site which has all the sun rises and set times for each day. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Id go with what these guys are tellin you and leave those lights on a little longer than 6am-6pm. Thats flowering schedule my good man. If you gotta go to school early try turning them on when you get up at 5 or whatever and turnin them off at 8 or 9. On another note ive had 2 month old plants make it through 45deg nights a few nights ina row here
