I have some good mid bagseed, half a gram had me baked for hours.
I have around 2 dozen seedlings. Some maybe from different genetics but its pretty much all from the same stuff. Some of them are curling under and not growing, some are stretching twice as much as the others, these also seem to be a bit ahead of the rest, by about 12-24 hours in growth, still yet there are some that are thriving. They are all in the same soil, under the same conditions. Considering I don't need 2 dozen seedlings, should I cull the stretchy ones? the curly ones?
If it helps I started them in Light Warrior around the first of April. Some are still in the little trays. The rest are in a mix of LW/Happy Frog.

They just put on their three fingered leaves, and are sprouting the next set. Are they doing good for their age? Iv given a feeding of grow big 1.5 tsp/gal. Next month I plan on buying a soil tester(pH and NPK) and some Big Bloom, along with more soil for the other plants.($25 a bag here) Besides some nutes I dont need yet and cant afford till June, am I missing anything?

On topping and LSTing. Outdoors, LSTing wont provide any more yield will it? Will it give me more big buds? Will topping increase my yield outside? Will either help me avoid the flying pigs?

How important is water quality? Should I be buying distilled water, adding my nutes, then pH adjusting? I cant afford testers for a month, is the two months of tap water going to hurt them?

Pesticides... Is it ok to treat them with neem oil as a preventative? Is there anything I can use for this month until I can get some? Iv picked off two aphids(OCD much?) and I'v seen several bushes stripped by caterpillars near by.

I hate to sound like a noob but the more I read the more people contradict each other, and this is my first grow. An ounce of "purp" or "kush", thats what they call it all depending on the color, costs from $450-700 an ounce here, and mid gets me high but doesnt help.

I get horrible head and ear aches from a jaw injury, and I have arthritis in my knees, hips and spine. I cannot afford pain medication, or doctors anymore, because I am unemployed, and the only real relief I get anymore is when a friend of mine shares her pain meds with me. If this crop grows next year I plan on planting purple #1 and maybe some other medicinal strength genetics if I can afford it.

We'll I'm sure I'v asked enough question so I'll let you get to answering. I really appreciate it.

Unlike growing inside you will be at the whimms of what nature throws you weather related where you live. Just because some of us can grow monsters, it has alot to do with the environment or part of the country your in. Im sure youve heard this before.

Dont worry about the stretchy seedlings. Just bury them deeper than the rest when you do your first transplant. Move your pots around your yard to catch the sun if your not going directly in the ground yet or plan on staying in containers. You just might need two dozen outdoor seedlings in order to get 8-10 females at the end of the season. Some might be lost to pests or not grow out to your satisfaction. Good luck!!

Cutting or trimming the growth tips like described in the FIM procedure has always worked well for me and yes will create massive yields if you have either monster containers or growing in the ground. Containers can get overheated and produce smaller more concealable plants.

LSTing vs topping really means shorter or taller plants...same amount of bud (relatively) either way..

LSTing has its advantages if started early enough in the veg. process (yes...even outdoors). it allows for undergrowth to recieve more light..and eventually form more budsites...

topping...i would suggest if you don't have the time to stay in the garden and tie down new growth..

neither protect you from pork chops...i would suggest making some sort of a greanhouse...(notice i didnt say buy).its always more fun to build it yourself...
...and also grow things other than pot around your pot..

at least you'll be able to harvest more than one thing throughout the season...

just my

I'm at the 35th north parallel, In a valley.Very sub-tropical. I'm planting in the ground, some are already in the ground and only one of them are stretchy. I topped, or FIMed one today, it was really lanky but only had three nodes, hard to tell what I did. Oh yeah, they are in the woods, the leaf hoppers are getting bad, need an answer on the neem ASAP

neem oil is fine. make sure you constantly shake the bottle, as it tends to seperate from the water.

spray top and bottom of leaves once a weekand you can prevent a lot.

Get some hardware cloth and make some tubes like this to put your young plants in. This will keep most of the pests away.

Thanks for all the tips, I cant do the wire cages because of stealth, but all there is in these woods are bunnies. If they become a nuance I'll harvest them too!

I'v used Pyrethrin on my clothes to repel ticks, I think i'll tick up a bottle for now and switch to neem oil when I can afford hydro store prices.

I have way too many plants....
