![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Think I have things pretty well figured out at this location. Now I just pray for no helicopters or forestry people wandering through. At the moment the flow going into the tub is about 3 gallons per minute. Doesn't rain here much in summer so flow will drop dramatically. If it gets down to 1.5 gallons per hour going into the tub I should be okay (now its 3 per minute). If flow gets real low I might need to switch to watering by hand or switch the timer to watering every other day or every third day. Idea is, less work, and also less risk. Don't have to visit the site as often with this irrigation in. I'll just check up on the plants every now and then, perhaps feed them some nutrients, and otherwise just sit back at home with my fingers crossed. Thinking once all the soil is in (a major pain in the ass to hump all of it into the backcountry) and the irrigation is dialed I may only check once every 10 days or maybe even 2 weeks to make sure no catastrophe has hit. Man if this works out it will be sweet! everyday a little watering in the morning could make these very happy plants. Might disappear from the online scene here until late summer/early autumn. Good luck folks.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I hope your pipes and hoses work out for you, i set up a green tarp (20x20) and cut a hole in the center with a bucket (30 gallon) underneath to collect rain water. Then a pipe is run from the bucket to the plants. Of course thier is a vavlue so it will collect water and hold water. i have it all set up and i might be able to get some pics for you, right now it would be helpfull if i had some plants to water though...

![]() ![]() | Not quite sure on that one.... Only way the water would be able to go uphill is if you could get enough pressure to push the water above the top of the buckets elevation. Problem with this is with an open bucket all of the extra water will only flow overtop of the bucket. Simple physics here says that it cant be done. You cant make water go uphill without something external doing the work. On that note, I have seen solar powered fountains for ponds and such. You may be able to rig one of these up if you have a slight grade change, although I wouldnt expect it to work any miracles.... Hope this helps.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | if thier is enough pressure, it will push water out the tube. may require a 100 gallon bucket, but it is possible. if not, buy a cheap 10 dollar syphon from petco and connect that to your hose and put it in the bucket of water. simple.

Here are the watering spikes I was referring to earlier in the thread. I've attached one to a bottle for an example obviously clay end is inserted into the soil. I also took a pic of the label which explains how it works. ![]() ![]()
