Question about flowering stage?
permalink

A good buddy of mine has one female that is about 28 inches tall. The seed came from a really good bag of KB and we only found two seeds in the whole bag. Since it wasn't common to find seeds in KB we kept them. Well, now my buddy put one of them to use and has produced this 28 inch beauty. Since this is the first grow for him we have been reading post on this website for educational purposes. At this time the female has been flowering for about a month. The real question is....how long could it flower before actually turning into tight buds? I believe there is over 23 flowers on the female at this point but the biggest one is about the size of a quarter. Most of the flowers are about the size of a nickel though. My buddy has it outside so we do not regulate the light that it gets. Its also in a pot so he could move it inside if needed but isn't sure how that will affect the plant since it has been outside the entire time. I will try to go by and take some pictures on Friday so that I can post them. I did notice that there are already red hairs growing out of the flowers.....any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance

if your in the US, and your plants flowering outside right now, its probably reveging.

did it seem to stop growing latley?

if its over a month in flower , it should be a bit bigger.

Stateside, you are going to be past 15 hrs of daylight at this point and that to me suggests that your plants are going to be pushing out leafy growth. If so you are gonna be lookin at waiting anoth few months to pick anything respectabel off them. I usually harvest in september. Im as far northeast as it gets.

Actually it completely stopped growing at 28 inches. I guess it is in the reveggie stage. I live in the southeastern US and so does my buddy. What should I do if I want it to start budding soon. Should he move the plant inside during the afternoon to cut down on the amount of light that it is getting or do you think he should just leave it outside and just let it go? Thanks for all the responses. You kind of put me in place and made me realize that this is going to take some time........

since it already began revegging, id let it outside and harvest it in october. it will get much bigger then, and after a couple more weeks outside, it should start to take off.

right now your plant went through veg growth, then began to flower, now is converting back to veg growth. id just let it continue.

Id advise the same. If its already 28 inches tall and branching a good season outdoors will grow it into one hell of a big plant, that (assuming its planted in a good spot) will give you alot of homegrown smoke. If you can muster the patience id leave it till fall.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the advice. I didn't realize that it would take until October but I have the patients to wait this one out. I do have one more question though.....at first when it started to flower it had a real strong smell, now it doesn't have a smell at all. Is that normal?

it smells a bit while it growing leaves(vegging). it smells much more while its growing buds.(flowering)

its probably mostly dead buds on now. they will fall off eventually and new branches will appear where they were.

I'm starting to wonder how big this is really going to get. Is it going to smell up the neighborhood? Also, when will the actual buds start growing back? Would it be about a month or two before harvesting?

well im up north a bit. my plants usually begin flowering the last week of july-the first 2 weeks of august. just depends on the strain. i usually harvest around mid september-late october. again depending on strain.

yours should be around the same times. maybe a week or two later than mine, since you probably recieve sun longer than me.

you should get a small microscope. even some good binoculars turned backwards works. use them to look at the trichomes when the time comes. they will tell you when the plants mature.
