truely masterful plants sir, thanks for sharing.
thank you.

they might be going another 8 weeks or so.
i took the last one down in early december last year.

my comment about density was in relation to plants that didn't get big in veg.
the only way that some of my smaller plants can perform is if the density is there.
i had a morning star last year, and the bud was so dense that even the lower "popcorn" buds had enough substance to be considered keeper stuff, and not scrap for the hash pile.
my ak from last year had great colas, but the lower buds were a bit fluffy.
if she had the density of the morning star, i could have seen a 50% (or better) increase in weight.

with so many budsites on these outdoor plants, a strain that makes rock hard nuggets can produce an almost unreal total weight.

peace-

what strains have you noticed so far giving you those all around hardened buds?

I remember your plants last year, they look even bigger and better this year.

my favs so far would be morningstar and super silver haze. dense nugs all around.
og and master kush do pretty well also, but the og i grew out last year never got more than 3 ft tall, so it was not included this year.

this year's plants are a bit bigger. they were started earlier and most went outside a week earlier than last year. the real big plants went outside way earlier and were given sunlight and artificial light to keep them in veg until the days were long enough.
next year, i plan on having all clones in 2gal pots, rooted, and ready to go outside by april 1.
that might help me find those monsters i'm looking for.

So I thought I'd join in the running for one pound per plant. I am not really sure how much she will yield as this is my first outdoor grow, but I expect quite a bit of weight. I have LSTed her to keep height down and increase budsites. This is a totally organic plant. I hope and pray the weather gods will allow her to finish, but I duno. Weather here is turning sour much sooner than I had hoped and there's about 3-4 weeks to go. Ugh.

A deer ate off the main stem about 2 months ago. Ouch! she recovered swell however and the pictures show how she generated plenty of colas! Im looking to harvest at least 8-12 ounces off. What do ya guys think? Oh yea, its "just some bag seed" but smells amazing and is starting to get crystally and stinky. Yummm. Clearly a sativah...there are about 18 main branches on her. Its only about 3 feet tall now after lst and being eaten, but her diameter is about 6 feet across looking down

I call it The Budmonster

Have been in and out of here a little checking in but on a sadder note i think i am going to officially have to remove myself from the running here.

From the looks of the way they have been budding they deffinately have the potential to make the pounds i was hoping for but, weather, and long season strain just isnt going the bring me to where i need to be to get it.

I think if i had another 6 weeks on these that they would easily top out at a pound per, but im not gonna get that.

Ill get another 3 probably and if im lucky i will get a 4th week too.

The way im shaping up ill probaly end up with a few ounces instead of pounds.

VERY dissapointing given the potential potency of these ladies. Just hasnt been my year guys..

They average 10' tall with some almost twice that and the trichomes are dripping off of the buds already!
We smoked some buds that had fallen off early and they were soooooooooogood. Supere smooth, Fox Farm all the way, sugary nugs!!!
I could smell it from a long way down the driveway.

Well guys and girls it's going to be close for me in this contest. Two of my contestant plants are presently hanging waiting to be trimmed up some more.
Dureing the next few hours I will be finishing the trimming on one plant and hopefully the material is dry enough to see if I get a pound from this particular plant.
The other contestant was just harvested yesterday so it will be about 7-10 days before I weigh that one as well.
Eye balling it now it looks very close for these two plants to give me a pound each but I will have to wait and see.

Im sure there are others in a similar situation right now with hanging plants waiting to see what the tally will be. Good luck to all of you and feel free to update this thread with your accomplishments.

Rains and rotten weather probably has all but a few still left with plants in the ground at this time and another month or so is needed before the weigh offs began in earnest I suppose.

So please dont forget you guys who came around earlier, the contest isnt completed, if you want to call it that to see how lucky you all were with your weigh in. Thanks for participating.
