![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | lookin good siestam and swordfish... ![]() if my two thai moms i put out for my guerilla grow make it i think they may make it close to the 1 lb mark...when i checked on em before all that rain two weeks ago, they were waist high(prolly around 3' give or take a few inches..) if the rain didnt kill em like it most of the other clones i put out(sadly i picked some bad spots, but you live n learn, its not too late to get some more out) then they should easily be four foot before they start the flower stretch... ill get some pics of em in the next week or so and toss em into the competition, but dont hold me as a strong contender... ![]() but i warn you guys now, next year its on! proper planning prevents piss poor performance....and this year i didnt properly plan... ![]() good luck everyone

Swordfish There is nothing like a little competition to bring out the best in us! ![]() Count me in...although the best I have managed is about 2.4Lbs from one plant, I topped for this girl. This year, based upon the good info here, I am going to work hard on LST and some new organic ferts to increase my outdoor soil grow. I can't post pics yet as my girls were just transplanted last week, but will get my choices up soon. I have several different varieties, (you can see in my post in the outdoor grow group thread), and hope that one or more will be a prizewinner. If i can produce a plant even one quarter as big as that 7Lb monster of yours I will be a happy camper. Attached my big girls from last year. Last edited by kawliga; 06-21-2009 at 06:55 AM.. | ||

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Growing along old powerlines??? Just a guess because thats where alot of my guerilla grows end up and if im not mistaken i think i see the anchor line to a power pole off in the background. Good place for them if im right. Lots of small green plants for camo and plenty of light. Lookin forward to see how things turn out for you. Im in on this as well. Ill have pics in a couple days when my sis comes back by with her camera.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Treadwell I cant see the power pole your talking about but I got brave many years back and had one directly under one in the big city. Having serious deer problems at a remote site. 3 plants were destroyed or eaten. I obtained some deer repelents, dog hair, extra fencing, and mothballs. They still chowed down with all this stuff I introduced. I have a couple of keepers out there that they are avoiding. The fencing is higher around these plants and I feel the fool I didnt protect the others as dillagently. I need to get back out there with a roll of higher fencing material and do the job correctly or I will loose everything eventually. They have come back twice maybe three times and each time a plant is gone. I replanted some backups but I need to get serious with the fencing.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Ive done that kind of thing alot. Usually have a few every year that are in and around powerlines like that. Only real problem i figured itd ever pose was if somone went in there to do maintinence on the lines for some reason.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Well im hoping my new fencing will do the trick along with some unsexed replacement plants to fill in the holes of the eaten plants. I got this one covered fellas even though I lost three plants in the learning curve areana. Not excited about having 50ft of fencing surrounding my plants in three seperate plots so to speak. I figure if someone stumbles onto my plants in the first place the fencing wont make much difference but now I can sleep better at night knowing the deer arnt having a midnight snack. Photos to me at this junction are a bad omen because so much more shit can happen and my photo confidence probably wont come back untill these plants get a set of shoulders and bulk up. Ones looking great but could be a hermie for all I know. Most are female I hope but with bag seed you never know. My variety keeps me guessing its gender into July quite often and the deer didnt help with the plant count. The junior replacements are a month or so old but thats it, this must succeed with what im putting out in the morning will be the last plant run of the season for that plot.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Ever consider using some synthetic coyote urine around your plants to fend off the deer swordfish? As apposed to some of the other remedies it has worked better for me in the past. Itll only last a couple days before you gotta spray more around there but if its no hassle getting to the garden it might be somthing to think about. Its not too expensive, and if deer think there are coyotes spraying and occupying that area they wont come around. Natural pradators.
