In past years I would take one gallon jugs of my own urine in once a week or so but as soon as I stopped useing it and you need to pour a pretty extensive circle for it to be effective. I took my long haired dog who sheds like crazy and brushed him good at my plot and spread the hair all about the base of the plants along with mothballs. Two days latter I returned to find two chomped half eaten plants. The fencing I errected this AM will solve my problems for deer and rabbit anyway. Its 48 inchs high and should keep them out. I may spray some deer repellant on surrounding vegetation as well. I heard the rotton egg smell however could attract racoons or other critters besides deer however and am reluctent to use it. Please dont give me the recipees for pepper nicotine concococtions you spray down the plant with one time and the deer will go somewhere else. Im not all that ambitious and the fencing will have to work.

Really good plants and pictures. I dream of growing a plant that yeilds a pound. I've only grown one time, with random seeds, and ended up with just one plant and I'd say it had about 3-4 ounces on it before it was stolen. It was a small plant in a small pot, and looked mostly Indica because it was short with fat leaves. I have some going this year, but I don't expect them to get big because I'm forced into guerilla growing them. Hey, free nuggets are free nuggets, haha. Good luck to you guys.

hopefully i can make a showing w/o pics for now. put out 3 waves so far of 10 clones a time. the first wave all died. might of been a flooding issue, or not enough water, but they also weren't that healthy. this was late april around 33 degrees longitude or latitude, whatever. got another wave of clones ready that went out 3 weeks ago. out of ten half survived. these were rooted in RW starting cubes then moved to beer pong cups half full of soil. moms were kept at 16/8 and the clones only got natural light around 13/11 for 3 weeks and then threw them outside.just saw them the other day and they started as 8 inch clones now they're 2 1/2, 3 feet. only two of them though. the others around 1/2 foot bigger. no holes and a high water table that they've already hit. though 2 feet of dry ground for the rootball. hope to get pics at some point but i' m happy to say im proud father of 11 healthy girls.

I am game for 1 kg per plant, being Canadian, I should be following our national units

However, for most growers, 1Lb per plant is a great achievement....how about 448g per plant

Seriously though, its been a slow start, lots of rain, no sun...plants have been in the ground for almost 3 weeks. Topped all about 10 days ago, and started LST a few days ago.

I am going to wait another week or so, (finally supposed to get a nice stretch of sun), and post a few pics of my hopeful contenders.

Swordfish: Sorry to hear about your deer problems....what species of deer? We have an extremely high deer population where I grow, (whitetail only), and although i know they are around my grow all the time, cause i see their footprints in the mud by the creek, and all around my girls, they never eat my plants. Only problem i have is when starting them, they tend to stomp on them or scrape them with their hooves....I assume you might have mule deer which might have an affinity for MJ....guess I am lucky with the whitetails.

Perhaps Mother Nature is providing you with a "handicap" for this contest....just to give all us other friendly competitors a leg up to try and meet your standard of 7Lb, (3.18KG, or 3180g)....we shall see

Im still in the running but like Illegalseed pointed out in another thread anything can happen when your trying to get the job done outside. Even in your own back yard can be subject to more scrutiny than a grower would prefer. Having a second spot allows you to diversify your holdings so to speak. In my case I lost a field of a dozen nice size knee high plants to probably some type of rodent, possibly a ground squirrel that could fit through the fencing but I will never know for sure. I was very depressed regarding all the work, money and time I devoted to that location. I could make it bulletproof in the years to come but that's a topic for another day and not sure I want to grow in cages anyway. I have lost caged plants in the past as well to some type of animal.

After my expieriences with big loss's from gorilla patch's all due to animals I probably wont be attempting this style of growing in the future. My region wont allow for elaborate fencing in the few and far between remote areas where you need to sneak around and plant a few plants here and there. If I lived in a more remote part of the country I cetainly would make a compound of sorts to keep the animals away.
