So you're saying that if a plant is really fat it will block the light from getting to the other side? If this is true (makes sense) How do you fix that? This sounds a lot like my problem but it doesnt completely eliminate one side from flowering, it just slows it down and makes it look kind of retarded.

haha plant it in a 50 gallon container and put it on one of those rotating xmas tree stands outside.. You could LST the hell out of it too.. Man that would be an awesome sight.

ok, where do i get an entry form...?

Id like to officially enter my DP skunk #11 into this. i feel, even as a novice grower, that this plant could come close...

She is just starting to show preflowers and only has a couple calyxes(sp?) with hairs comin out.

go team...

Hey surf, nice looking plant. I would top that plant and slowly try and bend her over as much as you can. Everybody on this site has an opinion about that produceing more yield and I think there's some truth to it. Looking great otherwise. I remember that plant from one of your earlier photo's, it has really taken off.

Nice Surfbum....

Although the proof won't be visible for another 10 to 12 weeks, i gotta at this stage agree with Swordfish on some form of training....I used to top all the time and grew some big plants. This year I started LST on my plants, and so far I am super impressed with the results...like I say its too early to tell if the yield will be better than my past grows but fingers crossed

I snapped a few stems learning the technique but they all mended with a little electrical tape and some popsicle sticks....some of my girls had 5 to 8 strong leaders...now there is over 30 at least.

My plants were just a little smaller than yours when I started....trimmed a few bottom branches off, got some wire coathangers, and voila....LST is a little high maintenance so far...but will also help to keep the plants more like a spreading juniper than a xmas tree...which certainly helps on the stealth factor come fall....

Next week I will post a few of my hopeful contenders...

yeah i had done the stem snapping before i set it out in the woods. it got a big ole knot on it and the lower branches shot out.

so i took you guys' advice and went out there and topped the skunk and tied it down. i also tied down the blueberry just to get more light penetration. we shall see what kind of affect this has.

it definitely is harder to see them now until you get right on em...so it absolutely helped on the stealth factor. i didnt even think about lst'n em. what a bag

thanks.

Thanks for the compliments but when I read about my insanely large plants I ran out to my truck to get my tape measure. All my girls are under 36" Two of them that are sat dominant are heavily tied down in as many directions as I can spread the lateral branchs. The others were topped early on and a mostly indica strain I have never grown before so I am leaving them alone with the training techniques.
