Hey all. Started outdoors and everything looks great. Every year though I get some kind of purple residue on a couple shoots of new growth on most plants. They are still healthy, but sometimes this purple will look like it's doing something destructive. Will post pics once I go out to get batteries. Figured someone would know what I mean without them tho.

It could be entirely genetic and not related to the conditions of the environment necessarily. Purpling of leaves can happen if its cold at night or if the water you use is cold. It can also happen within certain strains regardless of environment again. Just make sure its not too cold at night use room temp water and dont over water. | ||

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I am also wondering if you fluctuate more than 5-15 f from lights to dark.

![]() | Oh it definitely fluctuates more than 10 degrees. About 75f day and 60f or lower at night. this doesn't really look like purpling of the leaves themselves. Rather its some kind of residue. Idk I guess just wait and see. About 2 hours b4 I have to go out, and I will pick up batteries for my digital cam.

![]() ![]() ![]() | purple on the stems? that's usually caused by either a.) genetics, or b.)mg deficiency.. and lower temps (60-65F) can also cause purple on stems and leaves/buds

![]() | Lol completely forgot about this thread and getting batteries. I'm guessing it has to do with the weather. Not really much sun, rainy, colder nights. Illegal seed kinda hit it on the head with his description. Hopefully the weather picks up.
