Hello everybody. This is my first real attempt at growing ( I tried a few awhile back but they were really my father's) anyways, my friend germinated it (I have no clue what it is) and it's growing great. I just transplanted it into the ground a couple days ago and seems to have no problems other than a grasshopper here and there trying to eat it. I was wondering if you're guy's expertise can help me determine if it's a male or a female and/or if it's too early to tell when should i check the sex? Any and all help is greatly appreciated .

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Alot of us are in the same boat this time of year. I have a boatload of plants that resemble yours and I feel from your photos that nothing is showing one way or the other. The photos you put up might as well be pictures of my plants as well. Ill pray mine and yours turn out to be female, but I didnt see a trace of pistols, yet didnt see any male developement either. This is my most pressing concern at this time as well. Some have said you might need to wait tell August before the plant tells you anything. Twice a day or more I look for any tell tale indications of sex and they are very slow in comeing. Having checked other sites like IC Mag, I have seen people, probably north of me displaying male plants in their photos currently. I conclude they are farther north and the plants sexual response is showing up sooner for them. This is not the case for myself however and must wait it out. Ill keep my fingers crossed for you that you get a keeper. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | It could just be somthin in the photo (or my eyeball ) but i think i see a pistil in picture number two.The preflower on the right appears to have a faint orange hair on its tip. It might not be a pistil but it looks like one on my screen. My plants look identicle. I said the same to swordfish in another thread the other day. Im pretty sure that they are female. Im just basing it on what theyve looked like in the past early on. THere is always the possibility of them morphing out of their current shape to show me some balls.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Yeah I agree with sword and treadwell.. Could be some tiny pistils in those shots, but I wouldn't start counting your chickens. Wait till you've got some real noticeable sexing to get excited. -random

Those do look to be female to me as well. But yes wait a little longer, until you 100% are sure before you get too excited. Here's some helpful hints for determining sex. Around week 6-8 from sprout is when you should start to see pre-flowers. Around the 4th-6th node up from the bottom. If a pre-flower is made up of more than one part, for example a post with a ball on top, (pic 3) then its male. Female flowers are always a one piece pod with 2 pistils out the top.(pic 4) Male flowers arent always on a post however, they do show up as small pods as well (pic 2). These you should always wait a bit longer, in case it turns out to be female. A sure give away to a male pre-flower is the classic "overbite" that a multi-part pre-flower may show(pic 3). I am paraphrasing from a High Times article last year, on sexing plants. ![]()

Everyone here is really helpful, Thank you sooo much. I won't count my chickens before they hatch but it definitely is a great feeling knowing that it can be a girl. The plant most likely does have sativa strain because the guy who gave it to me loves sativa. I'll keep checking day to day and keep you guys posted. Thanks again for all the help. ![]() P.S. Swordfish if you have some pics up of your babies i'd love to see .
