Question Can I move veged plants outdoors and get a crop in Colorado ?
permalink

I would love to put some of my rockwool hydro clones outdoors to double, triple , whatever my crop. How would I go about this and what is a good time to transfer from a indoor hydro room to a secret garden in the outdoors ??????? I know its should be soon if I do I would think.

Im not familiar with rockwool and hydro so much as soil, but i know a fair bit of outdoor crops.

I see no reason you couldnt put clones out right now if they are grown enough to make it worth your trouble.

They will more than likely get more light under the sun then they would indoor lighting.

I would be inclined to think they could yeild better outside as long as you find a spot that offers them long hours of direct sun.

Dont know what the climate is like there. Here is pretty cold with a shorter season, and ive put things out this late in the year.

I see no problems.

If they are under 24hrs of light they may go right to bloom when they jump into the light outdoors but its almsot that time of year anyway so i wouldnt let that concern me much.

I'd say its about that time of year as well. Get them out soon, I would think most outdoor grows have just started flowering with in the last week or so. In the states anyway.

Not just yet for me. Though some of peoples early flowering strains might be by now.

I have pretty fair amounts of preflowers on all of my plants now but i figure the onset of real flowering to be another few weeks. Mid - 3rd week in Aug. probably..

If you started seed now id say its a waste of time but with clones you could succeed since they are already mature.

I say prepare some quick little holes with what you can get on the cheap.

For a clone this time of year id go dig however many holes you need. 1ft x1ft.

Break up the soil well. Mix in a few heaping spoonfulls of pulverized lime to each hole. Some peat or perlite.. Then put your clones in and fill around em.

If your doing hydro indoors i wouldnt bother with any time release ferts outside now. Id just tune down the concentration of your hydro nutrients and use those for your clones outside .

You're right - By now I would say outdoor grows are showing sex heavily, and in the transition stage from veg to flowering.

Not sure where you are located at, I did a few outdoor grows when I lived in Maryland and would usually try to harvest around Halloween. I pulled this Afghan Orange (which was my only survivor of a few bad storms) on the 25th of October a few years back (outdoors). It was getting down into the 40's at night by then. Some places will for sure have be able to have a longer flowering period.

Go for it!
i just transplanted two beautiful plants about July, 21, and since then the inter nodes and the plant in general have just exploded in size compared to how they were rowing indoors(although under Fluorescence not HID or anything nice)

I live in Illinois, plenty of good soil around here. each plant has grown about one foot from being outside these past two weeks. and the nodes are much closer together thanks to the all mighty sun!!

if you transplant soon i think it would be much worth it.

and both of my plants just showed sex about a week ago, so yeah flowering is just around the corner.
