Hi everyone, So, in my last grow I discovered that the strain which I thought was Jack Herer really was not, and I have been simply calling it JH. I ended up with way more plants than I could handle in my small indoor closet. So back in June I put two of the clones outside to see how they would do. As you can see from the attached pictures, they seem to be doing alright! Mystery the first: In one picture you can see three plants. Two are sativa dominant, one is indica dominant. Can you spot the indica. LOL! The difference in the leaves is really amazing, eh? Mystery the second: You can see some rather amazing changes have taken place in the two plants between the 06AUG photos and the 15AUG photos. Can anyone guess what I did? Hint: on 06AUG they had not even started to show flowers yet, on 15AUG the plant is covered in them. Now the question is can I finish the grow before the first frost. I somehow guess not, so I have been thinking I may have to finish them inside. But I have to tell you, seeing what the sun can do compared to my 400W HPS has been a real eye opener. Peace

I would think they should finish off well though. I think the plant should try and adapt to the change'n season?? No real experience with this type of situation though.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Did you bring them indoors or cover them so they were getting 12 hours or more of darkness? That's my only guess as to why they are flowering heavily now. They look great! Any idea why the indica pheno stayed that small? I would think from June til August would have gotten it bigger than that. Of course not the size of the Sat. phenos, but bigger than it is.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hey Allglad: Thanks. I have a feeling that I will probably bring them indoors in 4-5 weeks (we can get a frost as early as late August but generally it is sometimes in Sept) and try and finish them off. Even though I don't know the name of this strain, I have grown a fair bit of it, and like many sativa-dominants it likes a longer than average flowering time. Reederx: Got it in one dude! That is exactly what I did. I gave them about 12 days at 12/12 in my closet and then popped them back outside. The weather then turned very sunny and warm and they have been growing and drinking like fiends. It will be interesting to see if the plants continue to flower, or if they find the extra hours of light (right now it is around 15/10) to see what happens. But I really have never had any plant take off like this indoors. It is very impressive The indica plant is small because it is only about 6 weeks old. It is also suffering from a bit of transplant shock and I have been waiting for it to recover. The sativas are much older and of course are in much larger pots. The other thing is that this plant is a strain called God Bud which I have been trying to learn how to grow correctly. This grow is for seeds, so I will be happy with whatever I get, but one day I will learn how to grow it right. Peace.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hey Tampa: Yeah, its a bit unhappy. Its not drinking all its water and I am trying to find out why. The ph of the water is good, and I don't feed it too many nutes. The problems started when I transplanted it into a 1gal bag from a 4" pot and then put it under a 400 HPS bulb (it use to be under a T5). It might be the bag, which I know sound strange, or maybe something else. Not sure, but I am trying to find out. I gave it a real good flush today and we will see what happens. Thanks for stopping by. Peace.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | In future outside put them in the ground. opposed to any sized pots they will progress alot faster and better. they thrive in the ground. others that do so will say the same. for sativas or indy imo since june they should be much bigger..if your on my side of the globe yes. my guess is the roots are bound. p.s what tampa said is pretty much nonsense. all varieties stretch the leaves out to take in light. id ground those or at least transplant into bigger pots. then watch em freak out when the roots have new space

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | after looking at the pics again in the second picture looks like theres a root growing right out of the pot base. not a small root either its practically a turnip. also you might be baking the middle one in the black bag right in the sunlight. that reminds me of a BB plant i grew once. not to say it grew bad but the indy look it has Last edited by shrubz; 08-17-2009 at 07:51 PM..

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hey Shrubz, Thanks for stopping by. I agree that it would be much better if I had been able to put them right into the ground. I had a couple of factors going against doing this (at least this year). The first is the ground is pretty acidic. I actually tried putting a couple of plants in the ground here in June. The results were not encouraging, though I have to admit that I didn't do too much to prep the soil. I've attached some photos to show you how those plants are doing now. The second thing is that I need to keep things mobile. The only sunny place I have is behind my house and it sees a fair amount of traffic. Having pots allowed me to move things and get them out of sight. It also allows me to move them around the house to max the amount of sun they get. I agree they would have been bigger if I had them in the ground, but compared to what I have grown in my closet, they are still a pretty good size so I am happy. BTW - that isn't a root you are seeing, just the top of a blade of grass. I went back and checked. Peace.
