Okay, so some of the cylax's have gotten seeds in them so, you know, they're all fat and shit. so last week i took a cylax off just to check it out, and there was a little baby worm that had been egg'ed or hatched or just fuckin crawled its way up to were the seed should be. i was like "what the fuck are you doing." so i squished it. that was like 10ish days ago. and then like 5 days ago one of the smaller lower internode branches got brown and decayed/eatin looking at the tip of where the bud was growing and just fell off. at that time i figured some dumb disease that just took a little branch out. there were no other signs of spreading any were else so i just kinda shrugged it off. now today i go out there, see two more branches with that brown decayed look all over the little bud sites of the branch again, so i pop the little bud off the tip of the branch and there is a little worm "inside" of the branch. so i have put the two correlations together, and i dont know if the worms got inside the plant from the ground or if something egg's them on the plant or what. but i dont know how to get rid of something like that. The plants are other wise very healthy, producing nice bud and looking great. but these fuckers have taken out like a whole lower branch now, and i know if i dont do anything they will just get bigger and eat more faster. any advice? also if it matters, im in Illinois. its been very dry lately. it has only rained once in the past three weeks. but i have watered about 2 or 3 times a week where there has been no rain.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Stem borers are sometimes larvae of beetles or larvae of moths. Once you discover them in your stems it is too late to effectively treat them. ![]() Eggs are laid on the plant and when the eggs hatch the larvae burrows into the stem. There are systemic insecticides available to control some borers, but they aren't the kinds of product one would spray on Cannabis. Google "controlling borers" to see what you are up against. P.S. It's calyx. ![]()

![]() | So yea, like you said they are pretty much un-treatable once they have started ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() But!!! i went back out and gave the infected plant a good 15 min look over, and i found that the infection spread a bit more than what i previously thought. It spreads through much of the lower canopy branches. after a few trial and errors i got pretty good at checking the symptoms to were i could almost pin point exactly were a worm is hiding. Sadly i ended up cutting down a solid 15%-20% of the plant, but im some what confident that i took out a strong majority of the problem. this plant is one of my slower plants as well, i wasent planing on touching it untill Mid-Late October. but if i keep seeing signs of these borers i may have to chop her down early. and again buzzmoblie, if it wasent for you pointing out how big of a deal borers are i would have lost the entire plant. so sleep well tonight knowing that you saved a good 33% of my harvest!
