Damn Weather.....
permalink

The forecast for the next 10 or so days is completely cloudy/rainy/cold. We havent had good sunlight since 2-3 weeks ago where we had a week of 90 degree weather. Since then its been around 65 dfuring the day and down to around 40 at night. My 3 sprouts have survived thus far (with tops of 2liter bottles over them to keep warmth and dry). This next week looks particularly bad though....Will they survive if kept in their bottles???

Also, if my plants have been in 40-60 degree weather consistently since they've been germinated, will they grow somewhat used to it? Sort of as a resistance?? Just curious, as I know that fans/wind make the plant grow stornger stems, and if slowly introduced to more heat/light, they slowly adapt and grow stronger to take it. Is the same true for the cold?

Thanks in advance.

If you can keep them alive during the cold, they will pick back up growing as soon as sun and warmth happen.
The problem with the weather you are describing is that cold+wet=fungus. Look them over pretty good when you check on them.
You don't mention how old they are... I might be starting myself some new seeds just to make sure. And we all learn stuff like this our first grow- you'll know next year to hold off planting outdoors until dependable weather!

Right, thanks a lot hound. right now Ive only germed and planted around half my bagseed. Going to start germing the others within a week probably, and I am ordering 20 seeds from Heaven's Stairway today which should be here within 10-14 days. So if these ones die, i will have more (hopefully)

Im in MD, I've had my plants outdoors for a while. 5 of them are from bag seed and are doing great, the other 6 are from Heavens Stairway (The strain is called 'Shaman'). I started them indoors and just transplanted them a week ago, and they have just started picking up there growth yesterday. Hopefully we will get some nice weather soon, but keep in mind we do need the rain. Good luck!
