Question Wild Animals eating Pot
permalink

I am planting some honey's outside real soon and was wondering if anyone knows which animals i should be aware of. I live in Colorado and we have quite a large assortment of Critters,Varmin and deer.I'm not so worried about large animals such as deer, bear, mtn.lion and cattle but , more concerened with racoons, squirrels, birds, chipmonks and of course a stray house cat or dog. Any info. would be very helpfull.

Peace

Check out the OUTDOORS Forum, there's a lotta discussion on keeping all God's creatures away from His plants. Hope the fires aren't giving you trouble!

Thanks for your info Slim, I will ck it out. Also thanx for your concerne about the Big Arse fire, It is about 20 miles straight south of me and still out of control, that was one of my main concerns that alot of the wildlife will be moving towards me, don't get me wrong i enjoy them alot and am willing to share a little of my crop with them during these trying times, but i kinda want to have some left for me!
Thanks again

Oh we can see smoke alright,,,,,the whole front range from Colo Springs to Denver and beyond is covered in it, burns the hell out of your eyes, and gives your lungs a real wakeup call. Yes the wildlife is on the move, yesterday we had a black bear make it to Denver, they caught him and took him back to the hills. There are thousands of animals that are going somewhere. I have lived here for 47 years and beleive me, 100,000 acres+ of burnt forest make me wanna puke. all because of some irresponsible jerks that decided the signs posting NO FIRES ALLOWED didnt apply to them.

Peace

I'm having problems with deer and elk at about 9000 ft. Everything small seems to leave them alone and so far, only a 5 ft fence has been keeping them off my elderberry bushes. I'm currently trying some spray on coyotee urine and should know within a couple of weeks if that is working or not. Most of my mj has already been eaten since the forest floor is so dry most places.

Two words... Dirty Socks.

The smellier the better. Animals don't like human scent, so just leave the sock near the plants you don't want animals to go near.
