| The sun will be good for it, and the only time that I have really noticed the sun shocking the plants is when they are both transplanted, and exposed to the sun for the first time, at the same time. If you're putting the seedling out in the sun during the day, in the same container that it's used to growing in, then it will be great for it. There is one exception to this, however, and that if the seedling has been grow under inadequate lighting, and it has developed several sets of leaves while under that weak lighting. For example, once I had a 6" seedling with several sets of good looking leaves, but it had only been under weak fluorescent lighting it's whole life, and when I put it in full sun for the first time, it got burn quite badly. Since your sprout only is just starting to get leaves, it won't get shocked nearly so easily. The best way to avoid shocking seedlings with the sun, is to make sure that it's grow under plenty of lighting. This helps the plant get used to intense light, and the sun will not seem as such a drastic increase in light to the plant. ![]() | if you had it on you sill for the start of its growth, then I really don't think its been thhat deprived of light. I have never heard of shock or burn from the sun. but if its true then I'd like to find out more about this. Because I usually grow my plants from seeds in indirect sunlight and after they are about 1 1/2 feet tall I choose the best two and put em out in the sun cause thats all the space I have. I have never experienced any setbacks with this but maybe I have and I don't know.

ok,if you you are going to put your plant into direct lighting for the first time, then you should eventually put it into the sun(shade first and then eventually into direct sunlight). ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The time of year and the location of the sun are prime factors to consider. Putting a plant out in spring is much different than putting it out in mid summer. If it's really hot, break it in slowly to the higher temps/stronger light. If it's spring, you don't have much to worry about. Raaidfm - Sunlight can burn leaves. Peace- Outdoors ![]()
