Arizona?
permalink

Hi. I'm a first time grower from Phoenix Arizona. I do not have seeds yet, but was planning on getting Sativas. I would like to grow outside, but I don't know if that's possible due to the dry heat. I've done some research but haven't read up on anything definite. Here are some questions I have.

Is it possible for me to grow outside here in Arizona?
If so, are there any strains in paticular that will be easiest?
Also, when should I plant the seeds to maximize the plants' survival?

If not possible for me to grow outside with any level of effectiveness, I will probably end up growing inside in a closet about 2 feet deep, 6 feet wide, and 7 feet high. Will this work?

I haven't read up much on growing indoors but if I hear that growing outside in arizona wont work then I will start reading. Thank you very much

Hey max!

read the grow journal if you havent

i dont see why you couldnt grow outside...i just dont think it would work out in the sand hehe....the closet would make a nice grow room...you should read into both more...im doing an indoor and an outdoor grow.

good luck and happy growing...i hope someone can help you more with the strain question and your survival question
although if your in a part of arizona that doesnt drop below 70? in the daytime i bet you could grow all year round.

Arizona has a long grow season you might want to consider growing a sativa dominate plant. Another thing you might want to consider is building a cheap greenhouse or something with 2x4's and that clear plastic stuff. It would keep the humidity up a little higher than outdoors.

I talked to my brother about growing and he said you can't start growing until August in Arizona, so I think I'll start growing then.

Thanks for the info about the mini greenhouse, sounds good.

Anyone with more info about growing out here in the desert please post, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

Any input would be appreciated once again. I'm getting a lot of different information from different people.

Some people saying there's no way I can start growing now, and if I do then the yields will be very small.

Some saying it's too hot to start growing now, and I need to wait until around August.

Any info you have would help greatly. Thanks.
