I've heard that a clone will not grow as tall or yeild as much buds as a plant that was started from seed. Is this because you generally have to wait until later in the season to get clone cuttings or do they actually have less growth potential? If the plant that was cloned produces about a pound on average when grown outside, how much can the clone be expected to produce?

I've never used clones, but I would like to start. I just don't have a good enough place to grow mothers. I would think that a clone would produce the same amount as the original plant, but I could be wrong. Other hosts have an opinion on this?

I try and turn clones over as fast as possible. I clone during short days and continue short days until harvest. I do give bursts of light to accelerate growth. I would say that most clones are smaller then the original. The yeild is higher because I already have my seed. Is the smoke better? I have a hard time telling any more. I like to smoke both.

Your question needs clarification. I'll try to help.

A clone will produce the same as a sexually mature plant grown from seed with the same branching.

If you plan to grow from seed then take clones and flower them all together then no the clones are not going to produce as well. They'll be several weeks of Veg growth behind the seedling.

Now if you have a mother and are putting out all cones this spring they will produce the same as a sexually mature seedling. Clones may actually produce more depending on your pruning practices.

Last year I planted both from a seed and from clones, and I found that the buds on the clones were more compact and heavyer than the buds on the plant from seed but it all depends on how you grow and look after your girl, that was my observation. what works for one person dosent nessesarilly work for another.

Why cant you take clones from veging plants and then flower these veged plants.. and then veg the clones for a month or so, then take clones from those plants ???

i would think that a clone would produce the same potential amount as the parent plant would. afterall it is the same exact plant, same genetics, and all that good stuff.
